Hey Everyone,

I've been workingon updating my Hercules RMX mappings. These mappings also include mappings for the Korg Nanopad and NanoKontrol as well as the Hercules RMX all in one file.

Check out the tutorial on YouTube, there you will also find the files you need to download.

Enjoy!
Priscilla

As far as scratching goes, I believe a decent solution would be for it to work similar to how the VDJ software it comes with. You press the scratch button (or any other one) and it activates scratching on the jog wheels. You can do some pretty neat scratching even though they are not time sensitive. I also like the ability to spin back or fwd a track and drop a cue point while the song is play. I tried to mess around and mimic the settings the tsi file has from hercules that requires you to hold the stop button down in order to scratch. I had no luck. Need to check out some more tutorials on settind up modifiers.
Yes I understand what your saying. Virtual DJ uses a different technique for "scratching" with traktor once you turn scratch on the track stops, so really it's like a momentary scratch button.

Scratching ---- there's no map for that under this mapping. I've been trying to create my own when I hit source 1 but im not having any luck. The standard map from Hercules lets you scratch if you hold down the stop button. I would much rather hit the source button and leave the scratch function turned on if possible. I've looked at a few how-to's but no luck. Any ideas how to do this?

Thanks!

Sure. I had this problem just open up the utility that came with the hercules (RMXCONTROLPANEL) and there you will see an option to change line 1-2 from MIC to line in just change it to line in and you shouldn't get any problems.

hey im almost done fixing your hercules mapping. you need to get in touch with me so i can make sure i have everything setup the way you liked it and then you can update your file downloads since people keep asking.

ive fixed the toggle for decks ab and cd as well as the scratch button toggle. i still need to figure out how to fix the issue where the cursor gets stuck in the search box. but im working on it.

Heya Priscilla

First off, great work on the mappings and thanks again for sharing the results of your hard work here and on utube.

Tried out your RMX mappings and love what you've done with the multiple functionality of effects and control of 4 decks, but I'm getting Traktor Pro (1.2.1) freezes on my XP laptop and with the play buttons on the RMX after using the jogwheel scroll function in browser mode. This doesn't happen with the Hercules website mapping. Any ideas why this may be happening?

Would love to be able to use your setup for live gigs with the RMX but I'm now believeing of investing in another controller (the VCI-100SE you recommended on your utube channel is one possibility).

Many thanks

This mapping is great!! Much better than anything else out there. Thanks.

Question:

When I press the mic button to toggle thru the effects, the actual mic function works. My volume goes down. The function to search thru my fx's does as well. How can I eliminate the mic function. I tried going to the controller setting and deleting anything set to button "46" but there was only the modifier.

Any suggestions. Thanks!

Just thought I would share my version of Priscilla's mapping....

In a nutshell, here's a quick guide:

Cue buttons activate deck C and D (no change)
Stop buttons are mapped as CUE (no change)

Holding down source buttons activates filter mode and turning gain knobs adjusts

Holding down scratch and pressing source buttons changes the input source

Holding down scratch you can control the fx with the left eq knobs, and balance is D/W

Thanks for posting up your map initially... It was exactly what I was looking for as far as the 4 deck control goes...

Here's a quick question for everyone since I haven't upgraded TP1.01 to 1.2 .... Is it worth it? I mainly spin deep house and trance.

It could be that they have a soft takeover in the midi mapping, because I have them set up that way. This is because if I use the sync to keep all my decks in time the pitch fader will move in traktor but obviously not on the RMX, you have to go into the midi mapping window and search of the tempo command and click on it then uncheck SOFT TAKEOVER.

That should solve your problem. Let me know how that works out.

Hey!

First of all, I wanted to congratulate you, awesome mapping

However, I do have a slight problem with the pitch faders...it seems that the reaction time of each fader is more than expected, so if I move the pitch slightly to alter the song's bpm, I get no response, and as I continue to move it, it suddenly catches up with the midi command and jumps by 5 or 6 BPM (enough to be noticeable) and it gets very annoying...

could this be because of my equiment? (DJTT mentioned once in an article about the cable sometimes being responsible for this) have you had the same issue?

cheers

Um I had a problem with the pad before. They sent me a new one. But the problem was a button not the pad.

Although the new pad didn't seem as nice as my old one. I haven't really got into performing with 1.2, been really busy. I just wanted to update my mappings.

Look forward to checking out your vids.

Peace.

Finally got around to checking your vid and tsi out, its amazing how radically different our approach to 4D mixing is. I need to iron out some kinks, but when I do, Ill post a vid with a break down on how it works, and perhaps a set of instructions? Not sure. Question though, since 1.2 have you noticed the Kaos Pad is even less stable? Sometimes it refuses to acknowledge the touch activated midi message (not the x-y parameters, the signal that gets turned on when you touch it). Very wierd stuff, Ill be getting a powered usb hub to see if that fixes things. Sometimes the Pad just doesnt work and I need to unplug and replug during a set (annoying to say the least)

Hey Everyone so I uploaded the complete files and made a quick video showing the updates. Here is a link to the files and i've attached the video.

Some minor upgrades but basically it's ready for 1.2 with modifiers and LED feedback working 100%

Enjoy
