Mr. Blenderson's Dicer Mapping for Traktor
Mr. Blenderson's Dicer Mapping for Traktor Posted on: 04.01.2011 by Edelmira Hannula Hey all...I couldn't get the DJTT mapping to load properly on my computer so I just made my own. It's somewhat based on the DJTT mapping but with some added bonuses. You will need 4 chained effects devices for this mapping. The TSI should load the proper effects but if it does not, load them as follows: Effect Unit 1: Beatmasher, Filter LFO, Delay Effect Unit 2: Beatmasher, Filter LFO, Delay Effect Unit 3: Flanger, Gater, Digital Lofi Effect Unit 4: Flanger, Gater, Digital Lofi To make the effect buttons work make sure send 1 and 3 are always on for Deck A and send 2 and 4 are always on for Deck B. Here's how it works: Layer 1 - Hotcues Buttons 1-5: Hotcue 1-5. Each button lights up red if a Hotcue is stored. If it is not lit up you can store one by pressing the button. Buttons 1-5 Shifted: Delete Hotcues 1-5. Each button lights up dim red if a Hotcue is stored and pushing the button will delete the corresponding Hotcue. Layer 2: Button 1: Multi loop. Press once for loop in point, it will turn loop on and light up yellow. Press a second time to set loop out point. While it is looping, press a third time to set the loop to 1 bar and then keep pressing to half the loop length. Button 1 shifted turns loop off. When button 1 is yellow loop is active. This one is a bit complicated and if anyone has any questions let me know. It will make more sense if you just play around with it. Buttons 2 - 5: Loop roll (light up green) Button 2: 1/4 note Button 3: 1/8 note Button 4: 1/16 note Button 5: 1/32 note Buttons 2 - 5 shifted: Quick Loops (light up yellow) Button 2: 8 bar Button 3: 4 bar Button 4:2 bar Button 5: 1 bar Note that Button 1 lights up yellow to indicate that loop mode is active. Whenever loop mode is active the multi-loop function (halving loop length) is available, and you can turn loop off by pressing shift+button 1. Layer 3: Effects Button 1: Filter sweep Button 2: Delay Button 3: Flanger Button 4: Gater Button 5: Digital Lofi Buttons will momentarily turn on effects. Shift+button will toggle them on/off. Buttons will light up orange to indicate that effect is on. You can turn off an effect by tapping the lit button (do not need to do shift+button). Mapping Chart: Layer 1 (RED) 1. Hotcue 1 2. Hotcue 2 3. Hotcue 3 4. Hotcue 4 5. Hotcue 5 Layer 1 Shifted (DIM RED) 1. Delete Hotcue 1 2. Delete Hotcue 2 3. Delete Hotcue 3 4. Delete Hotcue 4 5. Delete Hotcue 5 Layer 2 (GREEN) 1. Multi-Loop (YELLOW) 2. Looproll 1/4 3. Looproll 1/8 4. Looproll 1/16 5. Looproll 1/32 Layer 2 Shifted (YELLOW) 1. Loop Off 2. 8 Bar Loop 3. 4 Bar Loop 4. 2 Bar Loop 5. 1 Bar Loop Layer 3 (ORANGE) 1. Digital Lofi On/Off Please let me know if you have any questions, suggestions, or feedback. Hope some of you enjoy it! I'm having a ton of fun with it. | |
Philip Tennie 19.07.2012 | i just switch from serato scratch live to traktor scratch pro, been trying with djtt mapping but i have a couple problems so i'll try yours which is look more similar to serato.. i'm gonna give it a try. one question.. when i used the djtt mapping, i can't used my shortcut on the keyboard such a loading deck. can i still use the keyboard shortcut with yours?? thanks |
Sabrina Perricelli 01.01.2012 | Hi Blenderson I'm still having problems even when using your file. I have 4 effect slots all set to chained. No matter what I do layer 2 button 1 thru 5 selects delay and not beatmasher 2. Something must have changed in 1.27 because I'm sure this used to work just fine. Any ideas ? Thanks |
Emelda Velie 14.09.2011 | Ez Blenderson! Mapping looks ideal for me. I'm having one problem though.. The attachment will only download a .htm file. |
Yvonne Arrunategui 20.06.2011 | nice dicer mapping ... |
Edelmira Hannula 13.01.2011 | The best way is just to mess around with it and try things out. The most difficult thing is usually finding which command will do what you want. A good read of the Traktor manual can usually sort out those questions. I always make a point of reading the manual for every piece of hardware and software cover to cover. |
Celena Lovetro 12.01.2011 | Hey blenderson, I'm with you there. I'm using these with vinyl control, then in situations where I just have to bring the laptop along. Is there any good intro to mapping material that you can pass on or is it a matter of just sitting down and hacking it out. I dont know much about it so if you have references please post. |
Maisie Marras 11.01.2011 | want me to explain how my dicer only mpping is supposed to work? 3 layers (when you hold the layer button, it will be layers 4-6, 4 and 1 being at the top) layer 1: cue points 1-5 according to the button. layer 2: button 1- cue point 6 button 2- cue point 7 button 3- cue point 8 button 4- empty (can be an FX preset) button 5- empty (can be an FX preset) layer 3: button 1- sync button 2- empty (i planned this to be a buffer to avoid accidental button presses) button 4- play/ pause button 5- load (make sure you have the deck locked) layer 4: delete cues 1-5 layer 5: button 1- delete cue 6 button 2- delete cue 7 button 3- delete cue 8 button 4- empty (alternative FX parameters to the corresponding button on layer 2) button 5- empty (alternative FX parameters to the corresponding button on layer 2) layer 6: buttons 1, 2, 4, and 5empty button 3- modifier 2 on the left controller and modifier 3 on the right this is to expand the # of buttons, or 4 deck control. to do this: duplicate all deck A controls, and change the focus to C. make the conditions: when M2=1 for the one controlling deck A/C then duplicate all deck B controls, and change the focus to D. make the conditions: when M3=1 for the one controlling deck B/D i tried this out but messed it up and was too lazy to fix it. remember that to have the LEDs update for the cuepoints and such, you need the send monitor state command. i had the led's set so when there is no cue point it is off, if there is one it is red. then i messed around with the rest. also remember that with the sync and load you have to set the led to hold, so it only stays lit when its pressed. i also use sync ONLY to get the bpms the same. (but i was using my normal controller with them at the time, so i had the jogs control all 4 decks and the pitch faders control the volume for decks C/D) |
Edelmira Hannula 11.01.2011 | Awesome glad you're digging it! I'm believeing about making a standalone version, to use the dicers w/o vinyl control. Right now I use the dvs for transport, pitch, and song selection/loading and I'd like to be able to just use the dicers if they're arent decks available. |
Digna Delaflor 11.01.2011 | just got sum dicers this afdternoon.....and this seems 2 b the 1st mapping that works like it says.....plus its very effective....lovin it! Good Work! |
Edelmira Hannula 10.01.2011 | Awesome, glad to be of help! Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. I wouldn't mind making another version if anyone is interested. @tombruton69 I've used Traktor on an optimized, powerful PC and Mac and have always noticed just the tiniest delay when adding the load-effect step. |
Celena Lovetro 10.01.2011 | Here's to you Mr Blenderson. Cheers. I had been going through the same problems and your mapping loaded up like a charm. I havent tested it yet, but I'm just thrilled to see that mapping table load up. Thanks a lot. |
Marguerite Truka 09.01.2011 | Never had the problem off loading effects slowing things down but i do use a very optimised pc for traktor that is fairly powerfull |
Maisie Marras 09.01.2011 | ill give this map a shot if i have time |
Irwin Ney 09.01.2011 | You are right, changing efx at every button press sometimes slow the final action. |
Edelmira Hannula 07.01.2011 | I could, but I've found that adding the step of loading an effect before setting the parameter and turning it on adds an ever-so-slight delay in the effect kicking in. The TSI settings should load those effects as the default, and once they're loaded once they never need to change. |
Marguerite Truka 07.01.2011 | why dont you set it up so when you change to the effects mode it auto loads the correct effects |

I'm planning on integrating an ipad into my setup for advanced FX control but I'm waiting for version 2 to drop. If you wanted to use this idea for the Oxygen8 I would forget my mapping because there's a lot in there you wouldn't use. Just map a key to set the effect parameter and turn it on. |
Irwin Ney 05.01.2011 | And how about the DryWet for each one of the 4 FXs slots? How do you control them? I don't have the dicers but I could use your FXs combinations on my Oxygen 8 v2 |
Leeanna Ayla 05.01.2011 | Nice, thanks for sharing. |
