Reply to Apc40 vu meter?

Hey guys,
So I'm trying to make a set of 5 vertical buttons in to a LED responsive VU meter. I'm stumped as to how to make the buttons light up as if it were a real VU meter. I have a .2 range for each button so it will devide evenly over the 5 buttons. I'm just not having any luck setting them up.
Please help!
