Apc40 vu meter?
Apc40 vu meter? Posted on: 13.04.2011 by Hyman Landez Hey guys, So I'm trying to make a set of 5 vertical buttons in to a LED responsive VU meter. I'm stumped as to how to make the buttons light up as if it were a real VU meter. I have a .2 range for each button so it will devide evenly over the 5 buttons. I'm just not having any luck setting them up. Please help! | |

If anyone can lend a hand, or perhaps point me in the right direction I would be quite grateful. Fake Edit: I will upload my mapping once it's finished! |

Suzette Datka 11.08.2012 | sorry if this is redundant but what do I do with that file ? I have never written scripts for the apc40 but I do make my own templates and want to use VU meters in my set. If anyone could help point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated! |
Gretchen Stulpin 11.07.2012 | how do you do this exact same thing but with ableton live? |
Elvina Zwally 22.04.2011 | So even after putting the apc40 into dumb mode and mapping each button in the "scene launch" lane to the master vol out with a .2 difference between them, the vu meter didn't react at all. I could program the lights color, but they would not move with the level of the master, they would just stay a solid color. Any ideas on what would cause that? Here is a quick and dirty guide for setting up a VU meter I just whipped up. http://www.djranking s.com/community /sho...295#post272295 Thanks for the help guys! |
Elvina Zwally 19.04.2011 | Thanks for the quick reply! That is exactly what I was looking for I appreciate the help. I'll give this a shot once i get home from work. |
Demetra Pinizzotto 19.04.2011 | I already answered it sort of, but anyway here it goes: All LEDs are different assignments Add out master level on all 5 LED's change the min value of the LED's to decimal between 0 and 1. for instance: bottom LED: min 0,01 max 1 second LED: min 0,1 max 1 third LED: min 0,3 max 1 fourth LED: min 0,5 max 1 fifth LED: min 0,7 max 1 that way when the volume is at 0, no LEDs are lit. when the volume is at 50 percent all leds up to the fourth are lit. etc. tell me if it's not clear |

Jacquelyne Amponsah 15.04.2011 | Mine takes almost no CPU, that said I have a hexacore 3.1 GHz processor |
Demetra Pinizzotto 15.04.2011 | You will have to set the min value to the .2 steps, and the max value to 1. Maybe you should change the highest LED to .6 instead of .8 at .8 it will not light up that much. make shure the VU meter doesnt use too much of your CPU, a VU meter has the be updated constantly. So it's heavy on cpu just so you know |
Jacquelyne Amponsah 14.04.2011 | Give this a try bro. I have it set up with 2 decks, deck A taking the fourth column and deck B taking the sixth column. I also have the master channel taking the ninth column. You don't necessarily have to have yours set up like this, just use it as an example. It's also not yet complete. |
