2 Deck Launchpad w/ 8 Cues+Loop+Instant Gratification FX

I was giging this past weekend and was in a booth with limited space. The USB connection was interfering with my X1(s). I use a 1ft straight USB to a 4 port hub connection opposed to the long cable that came with the Launchpad, for less clutter. So it has inspired me to re-map my entire launchpad so that the usb connector is at the top off the unit as opposed to the side. I have completed the bottom half and I'm incorporating new features to the layout. I am believeing of eliminating the following buttons and using their pad to assign other functions.

-Snap
-Quantize
-Cue
-Master
-Search
-Eq kills

Has anyone been using these functions soley from the launchpad?

Im hoping that an entire re-map will also fix this problem with users experiencing crashes due to LED feedback.

I use the EQ kills on it. Everything else, I believe the removal is justified but the EQ kills are handy and worth keeping I'd say.

Still no joy for me I'm affraid, just had complete laptop freeze when trying the latest mapping.

How was the book midi mapping for idiots?

New version with original FX and sample slots. The hotcue modifier changes sample type from straight shot to loop when pressed same time as sample slot.

good work BUT I am going to stick with you previous version because:

1) I dont use the phase monitor and find it pointless in traktor as everything can be "sync"-ed anyway so dont see the need for it plus it ads to the crashes.

2)I prefer Lo-fi to the quick stop as you can gets some really interested sounds with it if used with other effects.

3) I like to be able to use Sample Play back where the beat phase monitor is. again as I dont see the point in the beat phase monitor and would rather be able to fire of samples as Idont have an X1.


You say you have fixed the crash issues? how did you do it as I would like to try it on the older mapping as I dont want to use your new one due to the features I wont use.

Thanks again for you hard work mate its really appreciated but your last version was better for my style of djing and workflow so I am going to stick with that.

yeah just nocitied this after he post, i thought he had post "version 2.3.1" as i knew 2.3 was out a while ago.

jhyphinwill appreciate the update my man. One thing i'd like to see incorporated into this awesome map would be a modifier button that could possibly enable decks C & D to be midi fighter ready as well instead of limited to only A & B. I'm not sure if that would be possible or not on a single launch pad i've been messing with this map some myself though. I'm going to load up your new .tsi when i get home from work toevening . I'll shoot you some more feedback then. keep up the good work!

ALSO ANOTHER QUESTION...

in the mapping why have you changed one of the effects from the original MF mapping for use with the MF. On this mapping for the LP you have a phaser effect next to the gater and lo-fi when in the proper MF Instant Gratification mapping it has a filter sweep?

how can I change the phaser for the correct filter sweep as I believe the phaser sounds a bit cheesy plus it impacts on the supercombo effects

No it doesnt. I will be posting my newest update tomorrow if you would like to wait for the most current mapping.

for anyone having problems with LED's, there is a known problem with launchpad and i series processors (strange I know) which seems to have been fixed with the latest beta novation midi drivers. I installed them today and noticed a dramatic change in the responsiveness of the LED's. Look for Novation USB Driver-2.1b3.exe on http://beta.novationmusic.com/

tested out the new mapping and its still crashing. only way to use it without crashing is the work around mentioned earlier in this thread (load up tsi so lights come on then turn all LP midi outs to off so lights are left on but no further output goes to the LP).

Hi, what role is bomes's playing in this setup? Is there any technical reasons why this mapping cant be done without it?

has there been anymore updates to this file since the beginning? Besides the TP2 release update..
