I must have missed that press release.
I personally believe one of the S4's strongest and most exciting features is its support for timecode.

I just imagined me and the S4 in a very romantic situation just believeing about it.

Probably because Traktor Pro S4 will get updated with support for timecoded vinyls/CDs.

Mods! Can you please clean up all the OT crap from this thread? I am really interested in the S4, but there's now 7 pages of crap hiding all the meat!

Yeah i do all my prep on one machine. Not sure it matters though.
Are you on the latest version cus previous ones had issues with constant updating.

Okay so it's irrelevant which laptop i'm preparing my tracks on since Traktor will read that information. Another thing that confuses me is Traktor always seems to be analyzing my files again and again and sometimes my grids are off. Would you say it's smarter to just work with analyzing tracks on one machine then transferring them around?
nayit ruiz jaramillo

In Supported File Types Traktor Stores the info in proprietary Tags in the actual file so, yeah its possible to prepare your music on one laptop and just transfer the files to have the same Grids and Cues on another.

I keep identical iTunes libraries on various machines and copy tracks over so that i can import them to Traktor on another machine. After i have imported them to the next machine Traktor reads the tags and i have all the prepared Grid etc.

If you copy over the Collection.nml you will also copy the Playlists/Favourites and Collection structure.
If the paths to the tracks are different you just need to 'relocate' the tracks.

I use iTunes because its easy to share Playlists from one laptop to another and then import them to Traktor.

Hope that helps.

Hey Karlos this is sort of off topic from the community , but where does Traktor store all the file information (loops, grids, cues). I'm trying to get all my files properly prepared for this software and I work between 2 laptops. So I'm wondering if it's as simple as transferring my Traktor collection between my 2 laptops or is everything stored in the mp3 files or both?

^ Looking at the pics and having an X1, they look of similar mold. I'm gonna say its plastic "metal" probably why its so light -- but honestly my X1 is pretty damn solid and has never felt cheap or weak, even sitting next to a Xone 42.

I'll probably regret replying to this thread seeing that you guys haven't really discussed anything useful so far, but I'll take my chances.

Do you know what material the controller is made of? Is it plastic "metal" or real metal?

I might end up getting this. Then again, I barely have enough money to buy an APC 40 (next on my purchase list) so this probably won't be getting my hard earned money for a long while

If you check the video, you can see shiftee pulling a loop form a song into a sample deck. Youll probably be able to set a loop in and loop out point, and then pull it into the sample deck.

I hope this is what you mean.

In a watt I'm glad this won't be out for a while. Itll give me time to organize prep my tracks.

Could be that you'll have to do some prep work on the samples like you would a regular track like setting beat grids and cue points. If you have a track with a portion you want to sample you won't put that whole track in the sample area, but use the loop recorder to record the section you want to sample. Then you can save that loop in your track collection. Keep in mind I've never seen this new Traktor other than what's available on the NI site.
