Does it actually do this? That's new to me! Sounds quite logical though...

I'm really interested to see what Pioneer is going to come up with, since they're going to present a controller at BPM, but I'm sure my

Can you shed some light on this? How does it work? Not technically, but practically. I am not sure I understand completely.

It could be to mimic the feel of a record catching the slipmat and starting to spin again. That's my only guess.

If you take two magnets and hold the opposing ends next to each other you can feel them working against each other. I don't know for sure, but I bet NI has put magnets in there in a way that you feel this resistance. This is what would emulate the resistance of a motor that makes the platter spin like on a turntable or anything else that spins.

Spoke to NI rep today, got some info I wanted

Flight case will be released together with the S4, at around €160. Won't be released before november, which we already figured. Exact date is not known yet, even to NI.

They will start demoing the unit in the coming month.

@Lundmark: Nothing ever replaces TT's, all my other gear just compliments them. Also when it comes to scratching TT's will always win out IMO.

Agreed, I've finally made my decision and I'm pre-ordering mine very soon. I'll get the case too...and I may need a MIDI Fighter as well. I'll get at least one turntable when the timecode support shows up.

Timecode support is the only reason I'm looking at this controller right now. It would be great to rock this with a couple of TTs , otherwise I'm looking at an uber expensive 4 channel mixer+sound card+Kontrol X1.
