Thats the real question !

Ok, the VCM-400 should be a next step to use Traktor Pro,
now we can use both FX-sections, loop, key and filter at the same time,
but we also have to use the same controller for decks A/C and B/D.
it seems nice with the knob above to change the decks - but guys - please try
to use the same eqs for 2 decks when you want to make "transforming" mix -
that doesn't work for 600-700$

where is the cheaper version of Allan+Heath Xone 3D ?
for that I am ready to pay 700$, but not for an "update" of VCI-100

Do they readjust the price once it's released if you already pre-ordered? ...Maybe it's so they don't have to come back to you and ask for more $$.

Totally agree! they're just high quality knobs buttons and faders put together in a stylish and practical way.
They really should consider lower price tags, I mean with the bad economoy and all, even the VCI-100 was (and still is) pricey for what it does. Specially because they got rid of plates and x-fader and it appears to be without sound card.

Hi,
Vestax is going to be on the Musikmesse Frankfurt (March 01.-04.),
and they seem to call the VCM-400 "TR-1 (KAITO)" now...

look: http://www.vestax.com/v/info/newsevent/detail.php?id=98

Any Ideas why?

Anyways, hope they will give some more information on it then.

Anybody heard more about the VCM-400 coming late 2009 ? :-(
Maybe the person in the link is only talking about the australian market?

In the NAMM-Videos it looked finished and ready to ship - why does it take Vestax so long? Any Ideas?

Are they waiting for the 14bit Midi Support in Traktor for the Faders?

I remember when the Uberstand first got announced DJDeals had it listed at $150, and then when it went live it was only $80.

How do we know this is the real price? If so, it is way overpriced if it does not even have an audio card. Hell , I'd spring a bit more for an Allen & Heath than for this any day.

Wow. That is pricey! Maybe it's cuz the letter "M" takes more ink than the letter "I". If I had to guess a price on it I would have said, $400-500.

To be honest, these controllers are just buttons and knobs, it's kinda shocking they charge so damn much.

I liked what they did with the layout. Looping control really needs a lot of improvement and that jog stick in the middle was loose and quite annoying. They should have used buttons and a wheel/knob for browsing and loading.

...And after looking and the white VCI-300, which I probably would have broken up with my girlfriend for, I was less than impressed with the appearance of the VCM-400.

I dunno for me not to be able to have a platter, would feel weird. I wait for the VCI-400 probably will come with soundcard like the 300 does.

Some more pics over HERE folks. The black version is quite sexy! It'd be great if we had some ETA dates. I believe it's a great and compact unit for Trance DJs to use with TPro. Double effect section is a worthy upgrade from VCI-100. Hope the price won't be much of a setback!

The VCM-100 did not have platters, so I can understand why this would not too.
I have an inside word that there is a VCI-400 coming and they both have 14 bit sliders like on VCI-300.

what do you mean by scrub buttons?

I like to use jogs for accurately finding the beat and laying a grid.

Looks promising but is this the production version or a prototype?

and why are Vestax videos such complete crap, always with the boring slideshows, way to hype a product.

Def a Traktor Pro controller,

I like the layout....

Jog wheels are virtually a waste of time in pro controller, really only useful for back spins and navigating the track, but they still missed the point so they may has well stuck some in there.

Long live the VCI-100, and so it shall!

Only thing I can believe of is, if you need a crossfader... just cut the sound on one of the tracks. I have a friend that DJs like this with his numark axis 9s. He never touches the crossfader on his mixer. Weird I thought, but it works.
Roberto Viccione

Technically, this is a dedicated TPro controller, much like the VCI-300 is a dedicated Itch controller (until Traktor gets 14-bit). So, people did get something, just not from NI.
