Yeah they would, theres alot of stuff that can be done in Traktor now that reduces the need for Bomes. Personally though im sticking with bomes and giving the modifiers a complete miss - but thats a story for another thread.

True, that's why I stated not like the Otus.

But, that would be one thing, for me, to consider Bome's.
(Or maybe try something with deck copy or something. )

Thats where the touch sensitive pitch slider comes in on the Otus, the RAW has a traditional pitch slider which makes it alot more difficult to switch between decks and still have pitch control.

You could always pipe the thing though Bomes to create a second deck then use the jog wheel as a pitch fader while a button on the device is held down.

If there is a will there is always a way

The article says

"Another piece of great news is that the EKS Otus is now fully operational and is now going to production"

He said that it was rumored to be going into production now, i wrote the article in over 3 months ago - the EKS has been in production to the best of my knowledge for atleast a couple months.

Ive contacted EKS asking for a bit more info on the release date but nothing yet(it was a day or two ago i asked).

Sorry to hear that. Such company like any other should take good care of PR, but I believe they are not taking it professionally. I mailed them about a year ago and asked about XP5 but didn't get any reply. EKS head office is not too far away from where I live in...

Dear other1

We have no official date as to when these will be available I'm afraid. Last
time we spoke to them they said it was due very soon, and at a large DJ Show
last weekend, they stated it would be around two weeks before its produced. So
maybe it will be here before the end of the year.

so hopfully its not out of the loop yet, so i'll just hang on a bit, im still waiting to se oter info from the BPM show last weekend, as Gizmo of scratchworx was there and have aparently taken loads of pictures of all the stuf at the show, so im hoping some of it is about the Otus, so i guess we just wait a bit more and save some xtra for a second Otus while we wait

I believe they are targeted at different audiences - the EKS ideally has to be used with a mixer next to or between a couple units

So what happened? Is eks going to wait till after BPM to release this? They better be careful, it may convince people that this is never going to be released. That's how I feel about it right now.

So four days and counting till the end of September. Do you believe that they can make their own dead line?

@ Midian - i believe the Otus is at its best when its paired up with a mixer like the VCI-100. It doesn't have a crossfader(not a traditional one anyway, it uses a knob instead). If i had to choice of 2 EKS Otus's or a VCI and an Otus, which is a realistic situation given the prices, i believe i would go with a VCI and an Otus because they will compliment one another well.

That sounds sweet, lucky much? One of the first hands to touch an Otus.

I believe I read or seen a video that was talking about the squares being motion sencers. But, I could be just making things up... so times I dream up cool stuff and believe it's real. lol

Yeah thats another CG photo, i am pretty sure the finished product doesn't have them and i haven't read anything about what they could possibly be used for if they were on the device. We will see anyway, i will be getting my hands on a unit for a full DJTT review thanks to EKS. If i get a unit for long enough ill see what i can do about releasing a tricked out controllerism Traktor TKS file and hopefully a preset on the mini-translator for the Otus

The picture on the site you quoted is a computer generated graphic of the OTUS - im pretty sure its an old one. I'm not seeing any rectangles either, i must be going blind
