Mod: Vertical Fader to Rotary Fader, like VCM-100?
Mod: Vertical Fader to Rotary Fader, like VCM-100? Posted on: 20.02.2010 by Ed Widup Love this community
and rotary faders! Is it possible to change the vertical faders on VCI-100 to rotary ones, like VCM-100? Has anyone tried? Since I see 2 screws for each fader, I thought I could replace it, like other Vestax's mixers. Any information or advise would be much appreciated! I am willing to take the risk!! Cheers! | |

Ed Widup 20.02.2010 | Thank you sm00sh! Now I can proceed with some confidence! I might come back when I get problems but will keep posting! Wish me luck!! |
Vernon Vanderberg 20.02.2010 | the rotary fader mod idea surfaced sometime back. the faders used in the vci are standard 10kohm potentiometers. so as long as the rotaries run from 0-10kohm on your voltage meter you should have no problem. Might have to retro fit and re drill holes in the case to install them. would be sexy as hell to have a vci modded with 4 rotaries for some insane 4 deck control http://www.djranking s.com/community /showthread.php?t=4919 |
Ed Widup 20.02.2010 | Great! ... But I have never done like these serious modifications before... I have no idea about editing the firmware though I was believeing like this. 1. get replacement rotary faders 2. make nice and clean holes on VCI-100 for the replacement rotary faders 3. connect them in one way or another... Do you believe any vestax's replacement rotary fader fits/works? I am believeing to buy this one. http://www.djdeals.com/vestaxDF27.htm |
Lorene Boehler 20.02.2010 | I don't see any reason why you couldn't. The firmware for the mod will probably need to be edited to, but it's possible. |
