Decision Time..

My new dell will be here by this Friday probably. I need to narrow it down between the Hercules RMX (since it already has a soundcard and got decent reviews), The Numark Total DJ in a box (since it has seemingly everything I need to start including headphones), Or the Numark Omni Control (since it has Traktor which I hear is better and it comes with Mix meister Live which I never heard of).

Do I need a soundcard? The dell has intel support for HD audio, and a fast processor and a good amount of ram. If I'm geting this right, all a soundcard/video card does is help take the workload off the processor and system as a whole right?

I have mixed on a pair of Tech 1200's for a good while but I'm a total newbie at coming into the computer realm with this so any advice would be cool.

Ok thanks for the advice. The steel and Ni Audio 2 sound like good options for the long run. Can that audio 2 be used if I want to get cakewalk or Fl studio?

Also is the mix meister live software any good?

i owned the steel and cant really bad mouth it
build like a tank and built to last

the rmx is the same as the steel apart from the rmx has a built in soundcard

but i allways say go with a controller+external soundcard

and when its time to upgrade the steel and the audio 2 both have good resell value
so you cant go wrong.

So if I'm understanding this right, I can get the NI audio 2 to be my soundcard, then get whichever controller I want?

If that's the case is the Hercules steel a good choice then? Or the Numark Omni? I want to get something thats of decent quality but is not going to break my bank since I just shelled out for a laptop.

if you are buying the rmx you wont need a soundcard as it has one built in
if you are going for one of the other controllers you will need an external soundcard

if your just starting out go for the NI Audio 2 it all so ships with traktor Le
