american audio vms4 vs vestax typhoon Posted on: 07.03.2011 by Otis Berney it suddenly struck me how the vms4 has exponentially more functionality than the typhoon, but with barely any price bump. i have had my eye on both of these as a secondary controller for awhile, and am wondering, price aside, which one is better quality? the biggest concern is the sound card, the review of the vms4 on this site is awesome, but i would have liked more on the sound card. i understand it to be not the greatest, but is it not great or absolutley god-awful? how does it compare to the sound card of the typhoon? it too is a somewhat low end device and im suspicious of its sound card, and the fact that i cant find any decisive reviews on it anywhere, makes me even more suspicious. if anyone has had experience with either or both of these controllers, any help would be awesome, im sure alot of people would like to know this as well. cheers, headshock | |

| Otis Berney 08.03.2011 | unique squared always has a few refurbished ones on their ebay store. this means that they have been bought and then returned, but that after their return they have been thoroughly tested to make sure they still work perfectly. They are then sold at a discount price. i have seen soome as long as 380 shipping included, they come and go, but there is usually always one available. heres one link http://cgi.ebay.ca/American-Audio-VM...ht_3298wt_1139 proaudiostar.com also has an amazing refurbished discount system, but i dont believe they are offering it for the vms4 right now. |

| Otis Berney 08.03.2011 | well i have seen the typhoon as low as 240, but usually they are 300 and 400 respectively, which is a minuscule difference when you look at the function difference. |
