Mod for a broken xone:3D

So I bought a xone 3D from a pawnshop earlier this week. I've been playing around with it, and I don't believe anything electronically is working. When I plug the USB in, none of the lights turn on or anything, and the driver software refuses to recognise the controller (I assume because the controller is recieving no bus power somewhere along the way).

However, the mixer works beautifully (the mixer lights are working), and it still seems like a steal at 500 bucks. Sounds are great, everything works fine.

I plan on testing the midi in and out with a midi interface later this week, but I read in the manual that the midi out just copies what is sent over USB, and if there's no power and nothing is getting sent then I doubt the midi out would be sending any data.

So I was wondering, if I tear this sucker apart and end up having the replace most of the controller guts, would it be possible at all to hook up the pots, sliders, LEDs and everything to say an arduino?

Bonus question: does it sound fixable at all (just from there being nothing sent over the USB cable at all)? This is all a little premature as I still haven't swapped the fuse out yet, but I did an overhaul on my guitar's electronics and I'm itching to have a try at something a little more sophisticated maybe.

Thanks folks, all the best.

It's been some time since your post but did you tear the sucker apart? I'd really like to know how to unscrew a Xone:xD and it does not seem too simple to find the right order. And by the way, would you say there is space for an arduino without ripping original components out?

Heroine? Wouldn't be the first time I've opened a parcel to find a life size Wonder Woman sex doll. Lynda Carter was H-O-T.

did you not get a warranty from the pawn shop?

at $500 it's probably worth trying to get it fixed with a&h... even if it costs $300 you've still got a bargain

This is the user manual for the machine, all of the MIDI information starts on page 27.

I believe it calls for 107 on/off messages, and 45 CC messages. Would this be doable with an arduino? I would actually prefer it to be done with these I believe:

I imagine I would do one for each side and then connect them with a hub inside the board.
