Mapping DDJ SX to Traktor

Pioneer has a midi comands pdf up on their site List of MIDI Messages for DDJ SX

I wont get mine untill next monday so I'm just going to make a basic tsi for the controller so I can use it with traktor straith out of the box. good thing is everything is separated into different midi chanels so mapping one deck is enough. After mappin deck A just copy everything to a new tsi in extram mapper and change midi chanel to B past back and repeat for C/D even the effect/Pads/mixer are on a separate midi chanel. All this should minimize the use of modifiers

Do we believe that it will be possible to bypass this in a similar manner for the DDJ-SX for better control in Traktor too?

Also, props to Viper for the inital mappings! Can't wait to try them out when mine comes in (hopefully soon!)

If you really want to scratch professional with Traktor you have to buy a S4 or S2. Only these unit's can use the special NI Protocol.
Or a 4Trak, which is also setup to bypass the regular MIDI jog handler.

just sayin

i mean the only reason i asked there is because on their 4 minute advertisement video of the DDJ-SX the pioneer guy specifically said that there will be a TSI for traktor, was just asking if we can get an update or something ya know? lol
I doubt Pioneer will be very helpful, mainly because there is sure to be a traktor version of this controller.

Hi Looking at getting one of these as I am sick of the S4's braking down on me, Looks like a really good job that Viper is doing, But was just wondering is there any chance someone could make like a review video, showing the mapping working with Traktor and all it can do? Would be great decision maker for me,.. (As I am stuck between DDJ-SX and VCI400)

Thanks

How do I get the 8 channel audio to work with Traktor with the DDJ-SX? Mountain Lion doesn't seem to want to make a aggregated device for the controller with the 8 channels. 4x2 stereo channels. Doesn't the controller have a sound card that Traktor can read? Or do I have to use an external sound card?

Do not worry folks, the jog wheels are excellent. For professional scratching they are not so suitable. This is not because of the jog wheels but on non support of the NI protocol.

Do the jogs work good enough for Cue'ing and pitch bending? And the touch sensitivity will not work I am guessing?

I'm not familiar with traktor but brought a Numark 4trak , I only had it about a week and don't Like how its setup, with Traktor. GC has a great deal on the pioneer ddj-SX so I may exchange for the ddj-SX but hoping there will eventually be a good mapping that will enable the jogs to function Correctly with Traktor. Do otherControllers typically function correctly with Tractor with the right mapping with their jogs ?

The biggest difference is that the jog wheels will not be high-resolution. In other words, they will only be good for pitch bending / track searching.

I suspect them to work as most jogs beside the s4 s2 jogs and there are some midi messages for the jog display also
