Claiming warranty on shitty laptop.
So I got a laptop at the start of the year from a dealer here in New Zealand called Dick Smith. It's my first year at uni and my parents can't help me out much as they still have my two brothers at home and a huge mortgage. So instead of helping me pay for uni they said they'd buy me a laptop for uni if I left my old PC at home for my brothers which is a decent computer.

Because I didn't want to set my parents back any more than necessary, and coz I only wanted a laptop powerful enough for music apps and to do uni work on, I just decided to pick a cheapie. It was on sale for $900, so it wasn't the cheapest by far but it certainly wasn't one of the higher end ones going for 1.5k+. It's an e-machines laptop with pretty poor specs.

It's been hardly half a year now and it's had frequent episodes where it would just spontaneously and regularly die on me. Like I'd be browsing firefox of playing with traktor and all of a sudden... Blackness. It just turns off without warning. Then when you'd turn it on it'd do the same thing again within 5 or 10 mins repetitively until you gave it at least 8 hours of rest. Then after 16 hours of being left on it'd start doing the same thing again. It did this for ages.

The headphone port has been slowly degrading ever since I got it and now finally the port is fucked and it's right speaker output is GONE. I have a left speaker and bass.

This thing is a fucking piece of fucking Chinese fucking shit and I want to get rid of it. If I take it back in and try to claim the warranty (3 years) for it they'll probably say that it needs to be inspected and had attempts at being fixed. Or that it needs to be beyond repair or something before I can claim the warranty. Fuck that. I don't want this piece of shit anymore. I want it gone and when I get my money back I want to buy a macbook pro.

How can I be able to walk into the store and get my money back instantly?
