[FL] popping when adding EQ
Posted on: 14.08.2011 by Glennie Hoppenstedt
Hey I'm a bit new to all of this production business but I've dedicated a lot of time recently to learning FL Studio and I reckon I'm going pretty well.

I've managed to use some samples and Z3ta to produce a house riff and it sounds awesome.

So I noticed the hats weren't loud enough and I wanted to do a bit of EQ work on the Kick and Bassline. I started adding the Fruity Parametric EQ 2 to some of the tracks in the mixer but found that the track started to pop and crack. So I removed them and it fixed itself but then I added them again without changing the EQ settings but it was STILL popping and cracking, even without any EQ adjustment?

Is there some sort of default EQ adjustment that the FPEQ2 makes when you add it?

Also my RAM and CPU was handling it fine, sitting around 13% so it wouldn't be that would it?

Thanks tons!

As well if you're not already, use the ASIO driver.

I thiiiiiink I may have answered my own question.

I opened a different sample song and it was popping (just hold on) so I increased my buffer length and it seems to have fixed it.
