, and great community. Got my VCI today. Now theres a problem that makes me pretty pissed off.The thing is that the fader only works like until 70% on each side. That means, the last 30-40% on each side is "untouchable". I cant reach the sides 100% with the fader. Also, if i have the crossfader set to one side, whenever i touch the jog wheel or another fader, the crossfader slightly moves, like around 5%, like wobbles. Yes, i have tried the crossfader knob on the back, and right now its set 100% to the crossfade mode. Anyone got any ideas? I was looking in traktor for any setup regarding the xfade, but didnt find anything. | |

| Cherilyn Kaisler 30.12.2009 | i Think its fixed now. Sorry if i was an arse, but i was pretty sad that it didnt work as expected. Opened it up and it was like a birds nest in there with contacts not even on their harness. I believe its fixed now tho, so now i'll start testing the device. Thanks for the help! |

| Reece Murray 29.12.2009 | Dude, you said it yourself, midi data is being sent even if you are not touching the device. Simple: Either 1. Your unit is broken (seriously man, you know it's not a piece of garbage when so many people are using, enjoying, and blowing off the roof with this unit) 2. Contacts are dirty - take out the faders and clean them with Caig DeOxit or 3. There's a loose connection inside the unit, open it up and check it out. Not to be a jerk, but did you really need a reply on this? |
| Cherilyn Kaisler 29.12.2009 | Ok... Like i wrote up in post above. Data send led is flashing now and then even tho im not touching the deck. Its flashing more when the crossfader is set to either left or right side. Is my crossfader broken, and can it be fixed if that is the case... totaly noob with this! |
| Cherilyn Kaisler 29.12.2009 | Ok, here we go. I recorded a small video to show what its like. In the movie im just moving the xfader left/right/left and then leaving it at the end. It starts jumping as soon as i touch the jog. So the jumpjng is because i just put my finger on the jog wheel. The actual range is not too bad right now, apart from that it acts on 80% of the fader (Not the last 10% on each side)... when i use traktor for a while, it starts acting like i turn the knob on the back up. It stops a bit from the end in traktor. Well, look at the movie to see what i mean. Update: Found another annoying problem that i was talking about in a post above. Some of the leds are turned off after a while. * If i turn on the EFX with the 4 small buttons top left. The led is lit. After a while they turn off until i push the buttons a few times more. * The EQ-EFX leds (The blue ones) are also turned off the same time the EFX-buttons are turned off...... * There seem to be a case where all lit leds are kind of reset to the default value. I also believe the juggle mode leds (The blue ones are reset as well) * Jamming now, and if im in Fader Effects mode, after a while when playing with the jog wheel, the leds are turned off! * When working with the normal EFX section top right, every now and then, the effects gets stuck. Like the knob stops working and the button gets stuck. Its like the VCI-100 effect section stops working. * Update again: Tried it in Dekadance, and the Data send led is flashing once in a while. Also checking the MIDI monitor in Dekadance, the value is changing like 56,57,56,54,56,57,56 etc..... Man, this is turning out to be a real piece of garbage if its gonna keep on acting like this. How can one trust this device? Right now there seem to be ONLY problems. I can do better stuff with my Maschine and Ableton Live as it is now... way better... | Cherilyn Kaisler 29.12.2009 | it's really crap this. Almost a new controller, but still these problems. Have to fiddle with the control scheme for the xfader all the time now. * When i have the setup configured so that the physical crossfader acts 100% like the traktor one, it acts up after a while. When i touch the jog wheel, its starts wobbling for each touch on the jog. * When i set up a higher sensitivity on the xfader, it works for a while, then as soon as i go left or right, the center is put somewhere at 25% on each side if you see what i mean. Like in between center and either side..... * The EQ-Efx acts up sometimes. The LED is not visible all the time. Like its turned off sometimes so i dont know if its on or not. Also, a few times when i turn on one of the EFX on EQ-EFX, as soon as i turn it down to zero, like turn it off, it jumps up to 50% or center right away.... Its not fun to use this setup since it acts like a piece of garbage now.... i cant mix when i get sound leaks because the xfader acts like a spastic toy. I believe it feels like its setting up its own configuration once now and then.... and the midi leaks are really really annoying (When touching one control, it moves the xfader) Oh, yeah, ive tried reloading mapping etc.... restarting..... yeah all of it.... Im using Traktor 1.2.3, the latest mapping from DJTT, Firmware 1.2 |
| Cherilyn Kaisler 29.12.2009 | Hi. Im using the V2.5 TSI from this page and latest traktor 1.2.3. What disturbs me most now is the leaks of midi data that happens all the time. For instance. If i play as normal, as soon as i touch a jog, midi data is leaking through somehow, making the crossfader wobble sliiiiighty... like 2-3% back and forth. |
| Madalene Ranjan 29.12.2009 | What version of Traktor are you using? What TSI file are using? You can change the pitch range in the transport menu. Sometimes reloading the TSI file fixes small bugs such as the one you mentioned. |
| Cherilyn Kaisler 26.12.2009 | I believe i fixed it, but it seems to be 'the wrong way'. I changed the setting of the Xfader in preferences to relative and changed sensitivity and acceleration to 70%/50%... now i can use the whole range of the crossfader. Any thoughts on that? Is it the wrong way? |
