How old are you? The great experiment to find out DJTT's age range :) Posted on: 03.01.2010 by Roni Batchan Hey guys,Following on from Xone's beatmatching debate - I'm really interested to see what the age range of this community is. There aint gonna be no judging atall - dont worry, just be honest, and it'll be interesting to see what happens. I'm going to put up another poll regarding people's experience in the industry, so if you could do that too, that would be awesome! Also, you could comment about how long you've DJ'ed for and your age underneath, would be interesting to see. Happy polling | |
Roosevelt Estrich 04.01.2010 | Age 21 Been DJing for around a year, started out on the student pub's cd players and a pioneer mixer but six months ago I bought my vci-100 from here and I have since then been able to practice at home. Trying to study for my exam in engineering physics also takes it's fair share of time though so I can't stand behind the decks or search for music as much as I would like.. The genre I want to play the most is psy but since the only thing people accept over here is RnB and top 40 I am trying to broaden my horizons a bit.. Oh well. |
Penni Rigor 04.01.2010 | Age 34....over 30 and dirty! Been DJ'n since about 1990. |
Sharolyn Narramore 04.01.2010 | age 20 been djing since i was 17. I was mostly a scratch dj but just moved onto edm last year. |
Anette Botek 04.01.2010 | haha... I was surprised at how many are in the 25-35 group, and that there's more than a couple of us over that.... |
Latoria Kavulich 04.01.2010 | I feel more and more wrinkles fading thanks to this poll |
Ladonna Candland 04.01.2010 | Age 36 (wow that was hard to say) Djing since 1989/1990 |

ly for a few months but have played clubs at least twice a year for the last 6 or so years. when you work a dayjob that you have to start at 4am (or earlier somedays) and on weekends too, it kind of impedes on "the life of a dj" |
Roni Batchan 04.01.2010 | well i guess its a fairly expensive hobby to get into... and i imagine most people get into it as a student at uni.. i dno, just making excuses now! |
Latoria Kavulich 04.01.2010 | Wow. i was sure the seesaw would be down at the youngun' end looks like i was wrong |
Ozell Cataldo 05.01.2010 | 40, Djing since 90, had a club going for a couple of years and been working fulltime all the time, though in a related field as audioengineer for the major TV station around here. Nowadays i play whenever there |

Sherika Lasee 04.01.2010 | played guitar, synth, & co-vocals between three bands from about the beginning of y2k, started producing a little while after (originally using "fruity loops"). learned to work the decks forever ago, but got seriously to work on both production & dj'n just a few short years ago &'ve kept them going strong threw out these past two years almost evening

Lilliana Perris 04.01.2010 | Yep! That man was a DEMON on the decks! Seen him a good few times here, as he used to come every year. I hit him up on Myspace and MSN. Very cool dude and has given me loads of good tips etc. However, last time he was here.....he did not mix at all. Put in a pre mixed CD. Was very very offended and upset actually. Here was my HERO....a man i saw KILLING it and working the decks like the PRO he is. Then to see him to do that? Eish..... But I still respect the dude! |

Tran Kizzee 03.01.2010 | 18, been DJing for about a year now. I started out with a set of stanton CDJs, recently upgraded to Traktor Pro and a VCI 100. Best decision I've ever made. I got into dance music in 2007 when a good friend of mine introduced me to Daft Punk. I could never get enough of it (dance music), and I still can't. |
Breana Singerman 03.01.2010 | 26, been DJing since I was 14 and playing professionally since 2005. |
Anette Botek 03.01.2010 | 41 ...been making music since about '84-85... |
Adolf Hit 03.01.2010 | Age: 24 Mixing for two years now. First dance album was Homework, but the cd which got me interested in Djing was the Miss Kittin Electroclash Muzik magazine mixtape |
Ashirumatic DJ 03.01.2010 | Age : 30 Mixing Since : 1997 I started with Prograssive trance and slowly moved into Psy for awhile. The I started to really like tribal grooves and picked those up. I believe it was the bass. Now I still play tribal, with deep house, electro, techno, dubstep and anyting that strikes my interest. |
Josefina Morandi 03.01.2010 | I'm 19, Played drums from age 13 in bands etc, into writing hip hop/rap production & writing a year ago then turned production into mixing only in recent months! Yet to get my VCI-100SE! |
Al Henger 03.01.2010 | 18 here. been mixing for about 1.5 years... granted the first half of that was me messing with a *cracked* vdj... but I switched over to traktor/vci/lpd8/bcr2000 setup about 5 months ago, and I actually paid for it haha... While I listened to daft punk and the like from like, 2005-2007ish, the first album that made me genuinely interested in electronic music was probably Tristate by A&B. From there I kinda learned the ins and outs of trance, and regrettably, happy hardcore haha. since then I've gotten really interested in all types of electronic music, esp those with broken beats (DnB, Breaks, and dubstep very recently). I'm still searching for The Genre, but I have to say I still have a love for trance, that isn't fueled by candy. damn them for trashing its rep.... =( |
