Xone 42 vs Pioneer DJM700
Xone 42 vs Pioneer DJM700 Posted on: 06.09.2011 by Hipolito Scionti After moving from vinyl and serato to VCI SE (which I still love) I've decided I just love mixing on decks and so I'm gonna get TSP2 (audio 10) but I want a new mixer too.My budget is around | |

Plus, I got it for a bargain. And yesterday (take this as a negative or a plus) I replaced the headphone jack on it (I know, it's bad they wear out but shit happens) and it wasn't too much of a complicated procedure at all. Although it's handy having my Dad about who is good with this stuff. Saying that, I haven't had the chance to lay my hands on a Xone 42. Although I had exactly the same choice and when it came down to it I just thought I may as well go with the standard that you're likely to see in a club (it's laid out very much the same as the DJM 800) and it has built in effects, seeing as I'm not overly keen on Traktor's effects. Plus, the filter is alright too. However, if a Xone 92/DJM 800 came up at a good price... I'd probably go for that. In the future perhaps I'd go for a DJM 850. |
Marcos Zelko 13.10.2012 | So If I pickup a xone 92 would all I need to play with traktor is a audio 10 soundcard? I currently have 1 k2 but plan on adding another. I'm a noob when it comes to mixing with an external mixer |

Romelia Stankard 25.01.2012 | 42 all day. The 700 is pretty annoying with no colour filter knobs |
Mimi Mahaffee 25.01.2012 | Yeah the 800 is digital.. and thats what I dont like with it.. The sound feels kind of sharp and harsch, not near the warmth of xone 62/92. I'm also on the crossroads between staying with my djm 800 or change to xone 62/92. I'm more of a hifi guy so I believe ill end up with a xone mixer. |
Hipolito Scionti 22.09.2011 | Picked up a mint 2nd hand Pioneer DJM800 toevening
. Gonna hook it up tomozza. Well excited |
Hipolito Scionti 20.09.2011 | Xone mixers are cooler, but I just love pioneer FX. Am believeing second hand DJM 800 now. What I want is a really crisp sounding mixer that has like 0 noise coming out of it... so probably digital. The 800 is digital right? Built in soundcard etc. My current DJM 600 hisses when no music is played... me no likey |

Chas Giraldez 06.09.2011 | Xone 42. The full kill EQ's already make it better than the 700, then you add the filters and superior sound quality and the win is pretty clear. |
Yee Bedilion 06.09.2011 | Hey, I don't mean to hi-jack but i'm in a similar boat. If you guys weren't using software would you still pick xone 42? I was believeing of getting the xone 42 and eventually a KP3. The way it wired to me is that I could run a traktor thru the effect loop and grab a loop with the KP3 and then I could turn the w/d down on the channel I grabbed it from and turn it up on an empty channel and keep going. 3 channels would be more optimum but it seems the only good option there is nuo3. I believe it would be just as well get a xone if I'm going at it. I'd get a djm-900 but then i'd have to have cdj-900. Not that much flow around. |
Leeanna Ayla 06.09.2011 | If you go DJM you could probably get an 800 at a decent deal used. |
Hipolito Scionti 06.09.2011 | I do love the xone filters... On the 42 I only get the one filter right. Is it worth going For the xone 62? However I'm still feeling like the 700 is worth it for fx... Actually the djm800 fx wise looks the tits |
Mauro Left 06.09.2011 | If it was me i'd be going with the Xone 42. Because i only use Traktor's Fx. but if i wanted effects from the mixer i'd go with the DJM 700. |
Delila Vandommelen 06.09.2011 | Xone for the isolator EQs, mouth-watering filter and great sound/headroom. Biased though |
