Hasta la vista, Universal! Deadmau5 goes Indie

17:40 Oct/09/2015

The 34 yeard old Canedian artist, who not long ago raged against major-label industry, has now decided to ditch Universal and go indie, following the example of many others co-workers.

Dreadmau5 is on fire. The electronic mouse has declared his independence after being exploited, as claimed by him, by the big sharks in the music industry. Deadmau5 goes Indie, leaving Universal and Capitol/Astralwerks mostly for their lack of transparency.

"I am very strict on what products I want to associate myself with, and I felt that some things were just to make a buck, then, we’d only get a little trickle, and I’d be like, ‘Wait, I look this stupid for only that much? Why am I looking stupid in the first place?" That's how Joel Zimmerman, aka Deadmau5, explains his decision to his fans.

When one door closes another one opens. And here the independent publishing and music-rights platform Kobalt shines as an attractive and free world, a promise for an independent future.  We wish you good luck, masked mouse!
