Denon CD Decks...anyone used em?
Posted on: 04.09.2012 by Leigh Dollyhigh
i've seen a few good deals on denon cdj's recently, and wondered if anyone has used them?

am i right in believeing that all of them have spinning platters (ive been looking at the 3000, 3700 and 5000 models)
as this is the main draw for me to get one as i come from using only vinyl. i've tried Pio cdjs like the 800mk2 and to me, it just felt like a big toy. not really a professional bit of kit (mainly because i cant get used to letting go of the platter and it just staying put lol)

my main issue is, the amount of features these cdjs possess make me believe their is more to go wrong in the future. can anyone comment on reliability and how well built they are.

I love the 3700s and the new sc3900s are in my opinion the best cdjs out there right now. I've owned pioneer cdjs 1000s, and 2000s but decided they're not my style. The denon's have a non toy-like feel to them that I enjoy.

I've played with the 3700s before, and really liked them. Just can't peel myself away from vinyl though. Really solid feeling, much more quality feel than my friends pio 350s or his old 400s. Spinning platter is a must if you come off of vinyl, I didn't like the stationary platters on the pios.

+1 on the 3700s though for sure.

Can't comment on the 3700's etc. but i have some reaaaally old DNS-1000s and they are still in perfect working order after years of abuse from at least 3 owners, so i'd assume their newer CDJs are just as durable if not more so.

i had the 3700's and loved them.. rock solid and would recommend denons to anyone. Only issue i found was memory sticks not updating with new tunes you had put on them unless you deleted the denon folder created when you plugged them in last time you used. Not a big problem... and i am sure i probably missed something

so do all of the ones i posted about have spinning platters then/

have you ever had any issues with them though?
anything breaking, the record platter becoming worn and maybe loose etc

i see you dont actually own them at the minute (based on the footer of your message) and was also looking at feedback on how long people have owned any without issue
