Reply to Custom Spectra Mappings / Scripting

How do I change the messages sent from each button? I can't achieve this using the MF Utility and was wondering if there is a way to accomplish this using scripting. Are there developer tools that help with this? Basically I want to know how the .mfs files are created. When I view this file in sublime text it looks like it's already compiled. What's compiling these file and what do I need to create my own?
