I don't believe top DJ is the right terminology. All the top DJs are also excellent producers pumping out a lot of big tracks every year. Any DJing is just added bonus.

Ill put my two pesos in, the dutch have lots of talent and passion when it comes to the hardcore techno scene.

I believe most of it has to do with commercial activities. A good commercial engine backing the artists results in fame and fortune. The the management aims for another artist, no one talks about the old ones anymore.

Like said, most of them are great studio producers but on stage just playing the same playlist over and over again.

I do not agree with any of this thread. why are you guys hating on dutch djs? Just face it, the dutch are amazing djs. And I'm not dutch if you were wondering. A lot of the dutch djs aren't playing trance tracks anymore.

I've thought about this and here's my logic :

The Illuminati prefers people from the Netherlands than the rest of us.

probably the same reason there are a lot of very famous dutch kickboxers and soccer players. the dutch have passion for electronic music. it gets played on the radio just as much as top 40 music. when the dutch national team returned to holland after the world cup armin van buuren was on stage with them as part of their celebration (even though he was playing swedish house mafia).

Punk is such a good tune, my mind was blown when I heard it on SHM's Until Now, proper took me back some years.

I am dutch and I had the same question, until i saw all you hating and being jealous..
for those who aren't my mum and dad have been in the music industry for a long time, even though my mum only went to a lot of parties, my dad was actually a dj, not a producer.

the clubs were always filled because the EDM industry is really big here, and no you don't get free shit here or any special studies. the Dutch' passion for EDM is just much bigger then most of the other countries.

I am 15 now and i dream of nothing else besides becoming big in the Electronic world.
i am following the Ultra music festival live stream both weekends completely and i saw; Armin van Buuren, Ti
