let me point out...... Im not the problem here. I personally believe people should speak up when necessary if they are trying to preserve the integrity of the community . People have done this in the past (members and moderators) and I'm just following what I thought was protocal. Trust me....I fully understand what the phrase "don't feed the trolls" is all about. In this instance though, this member is new, I personally didnt really know too much about them, and I thought it might be helpfull to say what I said earlier. Why do I even need to explain myself? Always someone up ur arse to criticize/"guide" you every chance they get. Thanks again

Same here, the only thing that comes close to that is the logo of a label they are heavily associated with.

Closing this since it has turned mainly into a discussion of why he should get or not a logo rather than what the OP asked for.

People on these boards are so rude! You don't have to be a pro DJ to have your own logo.

Well, I fail to see how pointing out that a logo and/or web-presence (not only talking about this thread here, more of a general statement) might not really be the most important thing to worry about at this point is as negative as some people here make it out to be. Be honest, how many people do you know that got gigs (especially the first ones) based on their web-page? Or why do people want a logo so badly? (Actually, when believeing about it I can't come up with any DJ, which I'm interested in, that has a logo)

Don't get me wrong, it might be different somewhere else, but all I can observe is that word of mouth and (even more importantly) knowing people is the way to get gigs, not having a super duper webpage. Sure, having some representation on the internet certainly does not hurt, but a normal facebook account will do for that (maybe at a later stage a fanpage). And to be honest, I'd get a bit suspicious if somebody had a fancy webpage without having played a fair number of gigs - in the end a webpage without content is not worth a penny (and what should you fill a DJ page with if not references to your former and forthcoming gigs - and maybe a mix here and there).

This community has always been about helping. Yes there are sometimes 30+ threads about the same thing, just offer help or don't answer. There's been a lot of this "holier than thou" attitude here lately, and to be honest, that's not DJTT. Let's be the supportive community we are all here for, and not another uppity community .

OP: look at logos online, lots, and foreverything from toasters to airplanes. It will give you some ideas of what looks good, and what doesn't. Don't clutter it with too much, the simpler the better. Keep it to only a couple colors, but make sure it catches the readers eye. Also, it doesn't have to be your name, or letters, look at the Etnies logo for example. It is a very abstract E, but when I see it in a skate shop I instantly know its Etnies. And keep up the enthusiasm, no difference between a logo and a DJ name when it comes to how long you have been playing this game.

Not the point. Thats like asking if you would hire someone who didnt put in an application. Regardless of skill, everyone should believe about marketing themselves. One of the first steps towards that is making sure you can be presentable.

As for your reply to what Deviantart is all about, a simple explanation like this would have probably been helpful and in the context of your response, less harsh.

" Deviantart is a place where artists both amatuer and professional post different works of their portfolio. Users can browse them and comment on them. It might be a good place for inspiration or for making connections to an artist that might be able to draw something up for you."

Here's a kinda cool place to get some ideas.

http://www.logofaves.com/

If you google 'free logo creator' you'll get lots of links to software downloads and online logo building sites. Try a few out!

Another good place to look is www.dafont.com . They have lots of free downloadable fonts that could be used for logos.

Let's play nice, kids!

As for the comments about "being good" before getting a logo made, thats just nice way of putting someone down. There are loads of products, DJs, and companies that are terrible, but a lot of them have a logo anyway.

A logo should represent someone or something regardless of quality. The logo will be his calling card so to speak. If I saw someone who had only a few weeks under his or her belt with a logo and card, I would be quite impressed that they took the time to represent themselves properly.

Keep doing what youre doing Kyle, and check out Deviantart. They have some cool stuff there. You might even been able to get someone to make one for you. Im currently looking for one as well, ill PM you if I find something.
