Price drop Machine and Kontrol S4 (ends 31/8)
Posted on: 02.07.2012 by Shalon Jaranilla
According to pro audio star, Native instruments has dropped the prices for machine with 200 dollars, machine mikro and the s4 with 100 dollars. That's 399 for the machine and 299 for the mikro.

Last i heard GC employees don't get stuff at cost, the employee would be paying about 365-ish, but thats because their discount is like 10 under map (again, not a gc employee, just what i was told by one of their employees i was trying to steal), and trust me (just checked the updated price list) They still made a nice bit of change. Not sure what tax is in your state, but I'm sure its not like 20%...

i quite like guitar center and they've always treated me very well with price matching and customer service, plus i've met several cool djs and producers that work there. so, i feel it's worth it to pay the tax for the perks i have gotten from them. i've had several deals from them that were lower than any online retailers even with tax. for instance they currently sell the krk rokit 10 sub for $370 new, right now there is a 15% sale going on which puts it around $340 with tax. the lowest i have seen that go for is $350 online. so they are great if you know what to look for.

they sometimes get a bad rap from people who say they are clueless and don't know anything about any products but i believe they know enough. i suppose that highly depends on the stores and individuals as well, but all of them here seem to know their stuff well enough. i mean it would be nearly impossible for someone in the pro audio section to know about every single hardware and software in detail. the manual for maschine is well over 300 pages. i guess i'm just the type of person to research stuff myself in advance so i never really need to ask them any questions when i'm there.

Got mine for $890, street price is $1050-1100 and those discounts never affect the local prices so I'm still happy

they would surely do it if pro audio star makes a new bundle to reflect the reduced price. i emailed them to see if they are going to drop their bundle prices since they currently have 2 packages where you would lose $150 if you purchased them.
well, i've gotta give a +1 to guitar center on this one. i went in today and asked about their 30 day price matching since native instruments lowered the price on the maschine. no problem. they gave me $200+ refund with no questions asked, even though i got the rokit 5's free as a bundle. that's awesome!

they will also match deals from semi-shady websites that are crazy low. once i got them to match $175 audio technicas for $75! i bought 2 for the price of 1. same with a trigger finger i got for half off a long time ago. if you know what you are looking for and can find a shady online deal like that, always go to gc and i bet they will match it.

Exactly. Ebay's "make offer" option is always nice as well and works pretty well sometimes. Today PAS offered me a price even lower than what my lowest offer on ebay was, before I even told them the actual ebay offer value. For the most part, I really thing they're blowing the competition out of the water in the United States (in terms of NEW or B-stock items only obviously).
