Roseanna Signorini 27.07.2012 | I have been Djing for 23 years, where is my veteran discount? I have spent thousands on music, thousands on gear , where is my discount? |
Latoria Kavulich 27.07.2012 | i shot birds in the orchard next to our house for .50c a pop. |

Jonathan Chiuchiolo 27.07.2012 | When you find your inner dj then you will be ready young padawan. If you treat it like a video game you will epicly fail in front of your peers, I have seen it happen many times, but if you have the basics of knowing and loving the tracks your playing and how to mix them with just the eq's you can avoid it LOL |

With it you can mix music not just play with buttons on a controller like most "controllerists" do not caring about how it sounds. Spend your time getting to know the music and finding your style within it, because when you start to play clubs I guarantee no one there cares how quickly you can press buttons or whether you are performing a live remix, they only care about the sound coming out of the speakers. |
Alene Kalush 27.07.2012 | Yeah for christmas im gonna ask for the DJTT christmas packages...i saw that they had some after christmas and then i was believeing ask for it next christmas/b-daythey are 3 days apart.lol

Latoria Kavulich 27.07.2012 | save your pennies mate. some of us have a lot of gear now but for the most part it is a long process. |
Alene Kalush 27.07.2012 | HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Yeah, definatly.

Alfred Takala 26.07.2012 | A lot of universities in Canada have "communication" programs where you study the use of sound and their you usually can get like 20% of software like Logic and Protool or Ableton (depending on what the courses are taught in). Sound degrees are offered in the communications field and their are also a few private colleges that specialize in sound and sound design and hardware design so sometimes you can get discounts on soundcards like the audio 6 or something to tht nature i believe. |
Kasi Marget 26.07.2012 | DJ gear is expensive, it's true. I would understand that a brand makes student discount (Apple comes to my mind) because the world in general, and especially in the youth, is driven by trends, and if they become more affordable, MacBooks and stuff will become a trend. That was the idea Apple had, and for sure it worked. For DJTT, or any reseller, I don't see the point of offering a bargain on the products they sell. More sales ? I don't believe so. DJing is really specific and "selecting". You get in the thing or you don't, but you're not half in it. If you're not in the thing, you don't spend money. If you are, you do. It's a bit harsh but that's how it works. And thanks to technology, as mentionned above, a minimalistic (and cheap) setup can do the job, before you had to spend thousands of cash to be able to mix 2 records.. |
Chrissy Kynard 26.07.2012 | Student discounts are given for the tax breaks and for the fact that, after education, you'll be providing the nation and industry excellent services. Can't see how either of those apply to DJing, so I don't see the point of such a discount. Work hard, save monies, try to befriend some other DJs and see if you can practice on their gear (don't just befriend them to use them though - best not to burn any bridges). Go to school too, that'll get you more gear than you can imagine when you're done. Good luck |
Latoria Kavulich 26.07.2012 | agreed haze. i jam with just the x1 and house mixer all the time |
Julissa Serrone 26.07.2012 | I believe you want things just to want them.....I say you stick to something small and master your craft with just that, then later little by little you can add things. I've seen plenty of Traktor DJ's play with just a mixer and ONE X1. Nothing else (Stefano Noferini and Carlo Lio come to mind). The other thing is DJTT is a VERY small store in comparison to places like Guitar Center or even some of the big stores on eBay that can afford to give discounts. Buying from DJTT you are supporting the community and community . My recommendation still is, master what you have with and THEN add. |
Latoria Kavulich 26.07.2012 | 5 finger discount always works. |
Audrey Pinda 26.07.2012 | Welcome to the real world where not everything can cater a discount to your specific situation. |
Latoria Kavulich 26.07.2012 | If they did that the crew would be living on noodles and sharing cardboard boxes. |
