lol, that's quite funny seeing as Matteo thought my set was really good. I give credit where credit is due. Chus and Matteo DiMarr are both phenomenal producers, and happen to be among my favourites. Of course I would use them. You are quite ignorant if you subscribe to the notion that you can not use one artists production more than once in a set. But you do what you want, what do I care if you want to limit yourself. Also, if you did not realize, Matteo DiMarr comes up once as an original production and once as a remix. Two entirely different beasts. And Chus come up only as co-productions or remixes. So your fail trying to insult me there.

And honestly, your just a bitch trying to come in here and insult me. I doubt you actually listened to the set, and if you spent an hour of your life listening to something you found to be "vanilla", then the joke is on you.

But please, post up one of your sets. I promise I will actually judge is without hate or bias.

Seems I'm not the only one who found your original post confusing. For the record, I did listen to your mix, and to be honest I have to say it's very vanilla sounding and unimaginative. The mixing is very elementary and safe at best, and the track selection very run of the mill for this type of sound. Chus is on that tracklisting three times, and Matteo DiMarr is on there twice. Good job digging and trying to be original there.

Thanks Jester, and definitely. I agree. I apologize to the entire community for my use of language in my previous posts. It wasn't necessary.

For those of you that do like Tribal, give it a listen! As Nephew pointed out, the set isn't for everybody, but at the very least, there's some awesome tracks in there, with a track list included. If you like any of the tracks, download them and show the artists some love!

I still don't understand how you were mislead into clicking on my thread titled "Tribal tech house set". You came into the thread, and there was a link to a Tribal tech house set. Fair? Maybe I miss-worded the post for your standards, but I believe it was pretty obvious that all I was trying say was "Here is my set. I hope you like it. It's gotten some good responses so far".

Regarding Matteo giving me good feedback about my set... clearly you know nothing about the Toronto scene, as compliments and praise are rarely ever given. We have very high standards here. And if someone was using my tracks in a set, I wouldn't give praise unless the artist did my tracks justice. I'm not saying Matteo DiMarr said that or thought that, but hopefully he did.

As for track selection, the set varies from minimal percussive, german techno, tribal tech house, and progressive. In no way did I stay in one genre or boundary, but chose tracks based on a tribal vibe. Every track was well thought out, and there for a reason. You can believe I played several tracks by the same artist because I have other tracks to choose from, but the bottom line is that those tracks are fucking amazing. I don't put any filler in my sets. If they weren't good, they wouldn't be in my set. Fact is, those tracks are better than most tribal tracks out there, they are what I like and what reflect my taste, and it's quite insulting to label those tracks as vanilla or predictable. Maybe they were predictable because you had the tracklist laid out right in front of you?

Since your representing yourself as someone who knows a lot about tribal techno, maybe you can enlighten us all by FINALLY posting one of your sets and letting the rest of the community decide whether or not you're full of shit. And don't worry, I will not comment. But I believe at the least, you should post up a set to show how superior and unpredictable you are, and how amazing your taste in track selection is.

Your feedback is duly noted. I will not throw it away, and I will definitely accept it. But I just hope your being truthful. And if you were truthful, then I thank you for that. But you seem to me extremely negative and a little ignorant with your thoughts on what should or shouldn't be allowed in a set. If you look at my soundcloud, there are 8 other sets. Each of which never have more than one track by the same artist. I used to subscribe to the notion that it is wrong to do that. But this time, I did what was best for the entire set. Maybe you should have listened to the set first without looking at tracklist before giving any bias judgement. That's why most DJs do not post track lists I assume.

ANYWAYS, Chus + Cebellos, Matteo DiMarr, and Strict Boarder are Canadian talent, and I will rep them all day when I have a chance. So that's reason enough to include them on my set multiple times. However, in this case, their tracks were just so bomb, there was no other reason needed.

Well no shit Matteo would find your set good as you used two of his tracks on there. And there's nothing wrong with playing an artist more than once in a live setting, but it's just not something one should do when making an hour mix to hand out online. Just seems lazy and an easy cop out.

And how can you say my you will judge without hate or bias? You've been swearing at me non-stop and insulting me from the beginning so you just threw out any and all credibility you had from the start. I've come in, explained what I believed to be misleading, and others would seem to agree as well.

As far as some one showing up as a remixer or producer, they still showed up on there regardless. I don't see how that would be considered a "fail", I just mentioned how many times their name showed up, but not in what capacity.

And it seems like you're the one limiting yourself by only playing tracks from a handful of popular producers that everyone else is playing, instead of trying to push yourself to look for tracks that fit in the groove or genre you're doing that have flown under the radar.

And lets get one thing straight, I never said your mix was bad, nor did I ever say it was good. The mixing, while being very stale and predictable, was on beat and never wavered. This mix delivered what it said it would. It's a safe mix made with a lot of popular producers from this genre for the lowest common denominator of listeners, much like how Ministry of Sound does their mixes.

And if you don't want feedback, then don't ask for it. Instead you should have just came in and said "Hey, listen to my mix and tell me it sounds good because I'm an insecure person, and if you don't then your opinion doesn't matter and I'll insult you every chance I get for not agreeing with me."

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback!

I promise as soon as I'm done my latest production (very tribaly), I will post it up in this thread to make up for the confusion, or I can just PM you guys.

Really clean set. Got me all excited to do some tribal in combo with my usual love for brass. Good job!

Oh, I was also confused about your first post. I was actually hoping to hear a new track, that was already doing good with local DJ's.

But hey, still nice set!!!

There isn't anything wrong with posting your mix here and asking for feedback. I'm into tribal tech and I'll be listening to this.

No offence, but go fuck youself.

Don't try and lecture me on what something means. If I say my set has gotten good support, then good for me, but shut your mouth nobody needs your negativity.

My post was not missleading in any way. The thread title is "Tribal tech house set". And low and behold, you clicked on the thread and found a tribal tech house set. Imagine that?

Now I don't know where your from, but not all mixtapes are created equally, technology available or not. There are idiots (probably like yourself) that don't know what to do with it. I didn't just play a few tracks together and record it. This set was worked on properly, and mastered for the listening pleasure of people that actually want to hear a good set. I'd rather you not click my link at all, I don't need support from sour DJs.

Let's just be clear here. You jump into my thread and lecture me. You say big deal if people like a mix or not? Are you even a DJ? With that attitude, I don't know. But I will say this..............

Post one of your sets and lets see if your mix is even close to as good as mine.

Peace

Usually when DJ's "support" something, that means they are playing it out at there gigs and getting good feedback. You are a bit misleading with how you are wording your post, especially when you say "newest release".

And big whoop if a DJ says your mix is good. Any and all mixes should be good these days with how much technology is out there so there's no excuse for having anyone say a mix is bad.

It's a mixtape dude. There isn't a science behind people showing their love and support. I'm not one of Toronto's top DJs by any means, but some of them have said some very positive words. I figured since they are saying it's good, some people here on the community s will also enjoy it. Especially if they like Tribal Tech House.
