I love my 25's as well but the user replaceable thing seems like more of a gimick unless you really do have some emotional attachment to that particular pair. Here in Australia the cables start at $90 for the shortest standard cable and the capsules are like $120. I'd rather just buy a new pair for $200. I believe all that really needs to be user replaceable are the pads obviously and the cable. especially if the replacement parts are so expensive.

The TMA's would definitely be killing it IMO if they had a split band with some padding, but i guess then they would be venturing pretty deeply in HD25 territory.

It's not my kind of music anyway, I just liked the colourway. Big fan of A-Trak's skills though.

I've just realised AIAIAI don't seem to sell replacement cables for any of the limited edition TMA-1's. The regular black coiled cable on their website says it doesn't fit the phones with cable lock. What are you meant to do if you need to replace it?
I'm not in desperate need but wanted to buy a plain black coiled cable for a change. Annoying.

(by the way, there was no black paint at my son's nursery school - that's why my TMA-1's are red in my avatar!)

Let's hope

MY XD-53s are nearing the end of their life, the cups are dried and shot and I bent the plug a bit so sometimes sound drops out, I will probably be looking to replace them in a few months.

I won't go back to anything under 50mm drivers, I love the punch. It's like comparing a 12" subwoofer to an 18" subwoofer- on paper the stats are similar but you can feel a world of difference.

So, build a larger over ear headphone with 50mm+ drivers and call it the TMA-2. appropriately named after the larger black monolith found orbiting jupiter.

i believe i'll wait until january and buy the tma-1 then when the standard-version has the new features and stick to my beloved hd25 until then

having 2 cans to switch from high/mid to an heavybass soundcharacteristic will be nice ^^

I was close to buying a pair, but am glad I tried them on first, Sound was great, but one little jump around and they fell straight of me head

Too loose for my liking as I dont sit still

@AIAIAI if you are still following this thread, how about a version for the small head brigade

Pop over for a jam Jes - they are SPECTACULAR. The sound platform is rich and full - the low end is deep, but subtle and the mids and tops are bright and distinguished. The updates are across the range (not just the Fool's Gold edition). The right-angled plug and locking cable at the headset will take them to a new level. If I want to stay married, then a new pair probably isn't a good idea .

i have them for some time now. love them, except for the cable connection on the can: no lock, seriously? i fixed them with small wire to the can, but a pair of headphones in this price range should have the cable fixed better to the cans than just a plug..

Thanks for chiming in and keeping us updated. It's always nice when manufacturers let us know they're listening.

i also tried the standard tma-1's alongside a pair of hd-25's and although they are nice, i much preferred the smaller sennheisers, so i got them and a couple of months later spent a whole

I love how these look, but when I tried some TMA-1s recently I just thought they sounded a bit dull compared to my HD25s. Just personal preference I guess.

If I didn't have my 2000's, and was still in the market for a pair of cans, I would be all over these.
