Emerald Ghiringhelli 08.12.2012 | @johnv - that'd be cool thanks make @boywithlamp - thought i'd already replied to this but not sure why it didnt post. like your tracks mate might pinch some! i believe at 10.30 theres two quite synth(y) basses running at the same time, and its a quick cut so could just be abit more subtle with EQing. but thats from someone who likes long mixes 23-25 mins or thereabouts was much nicer, although i'd have maybe left the highs in a bit longer. overall though really nice man @steveohill - im also going to check that stuff out looks good on another note - i tried to upload a mix to soundcloud (currently using mixcloud) that got taken down straight away with no notification. does the removal of download option get around this? cheers |
Shae Asel 07.12.2012 | @Johnv: thanks for the advice re. gain, practice practice practice :-) i took a listen to your mix - to be honest i struggle to enjoy trance, so i couldnt make it through to the end... but i followed the link to your deep house mix (http://soundcloud.com/johnveselsky/s...ween-9-12-deep) - now that was totally up my street. i adored the first track, i found it very inviting and was intrigued to find out where it was going to take me. i loved the tempo change at 7:50 and then back into the swing of things at 8:30. my next fave bit was at 19:00 - it just had a great vibe to it. to be honest i found your mixes are without fault (to my ears anyway), would love to see a playlist. @stevohill: currently listening to your tracks, will get back with comments soon :-) @josh: hey mate, send me a link of your stuff when you're ready :-) |
Emerald Ghiringhelli 06.12.2012 | @johnv - thanks mate that'd be cool @stevohill - i'm gonna check those out, sound good @boywithlamp - you got some nice tracks in there, believe i'll pinch a couple. I believe around 10.30 its quite a quick cut and it sounds like you have two quite synth(y) basses playing at the same time briefly (plus mids and highs)? could maybe be a bit more subtle - then again thats from someone who likes pretty long mixes - 23-25mins is nicer on the EQ'ing, although i'd maybe have left some highs in a bit longer. nice tracks though man and overall really cool, liked it on another note - i uploaded a couple of mixes on soundcloud (i am using mixcloud right now) and they were taken down straight away without an email notification or anything - did you get around this by removing the download option? Cheers |

Tiara Bastarache 05.12.2012 | @Josh: I'll keep an eye out for your mix. @Stevohill: I've never been a Techno fan, that played a big part in my opinion of that song. Then again its all about opinion. @boy:I still struggle with gain on and off. I used to use Traktor, I'm without software (CDJ's & mixer) now so I don't use any auto gain. It was great when I had it though. Most of your levels were great, the only problem I had was with that last song. My tip is to simply use your ears and be patient, good mixing skill aren't made overevening . Also I just posted a new mix in the community s http://community .djranking s.com/showthread.php?t=64340. |

Emerald Ghiringhelli 05.12.2012 | Hey guys, am new to the community and will also be looking for feedback soon - in the meantime thought i'd say hi and say i'll be checking your mix out shortly and will reply with thoughts! Been DJ'ing 9 years now but only recently started incorporating digital stuff. Whats your setup? thanks |
Shae Asel 05.12.2012 | thanks guys! for taking the time to listen and comment. its very much appreciated. about the comments: i struggle with gain - i find the adjustments during a live mix to be very jumpy? any tips? and i did to-and-fro about the techno track too, i ended up taking a risk :-) please send me links to your stuff too - i will definitely take time to provide some feedback (although i cant promise anything to technical since i'm still learning) thanks again :-) |

Listening back you may have gone from Minor to Major. Maybe someone else can give this a listen and chime in on that mix. The Techno @14:00 really threw me off. In my opinion the song didn't fit in the mix and could have been left out. Last but not least your gains where off at the end =P. The beatmatching was spot on though and I enjoyed the mix. Keep up the good work |
