'DN4 DJ's' - Anyone had any expiereince of working with these guys?
Posted on: 24.07.2012 by Tyree Mccanney
Just been contacted by this London based DJ agency about the possibility of working with them.
Their site seems pretty genuine (if a little short on content http://dn4djs.com/).
They have asked if I can give them a call today, but before I do that I was just wondering if any of the DJTT community have had any experience of them?

Any insights would be appreciated!

These guys are like my best friends. They care so much about their DJs that they'll share their secrets with you like what they're afraid of and what embarrassing artists they have on their iPod. let's look at the facts about you:
- You, with no previous posts, show up the first following business day, or in just enough time for this post to get indexed on a search engine and fire off a google alert, as the first person with anything positive to say, reciting something sounding a lot like a press release but offering absolutely no specifics about who you are, where you've gotten gigs, etc.
- Your post not only includes press-release worthy sap, but also a personal plea to 'keep negative commentary about the company off the internet.' This is probably because this thread is google search result #4 when you pop DN4Djs into it. This also falls perfectly in line with our friend receiving calls to take down the thread.

And some facts we know about the company:
- A few people here have legit complaints with your company, which seem to go in line with the 'scam' angle.
- They charge artists to be managed up-front, which is a not-very-common business model by my experience, especially with no guarantee of success.
- They claim to have been around for years but their domain, twitter and other assorted social media accounts spun up in February of this year.

I don't have a warped agenda, I have a firey hatred for scams and in particular really distrust companies that dispatch agents to float fake positive reviews rather than fix their image through actual changes in their behavior. I'd prefer people not get taken advantage of (as is obviously happening per previous remarks in this thread) and I am a little amazed that you would consider my skepticism about that business model 'shady', though again, as an agent of DN4 it's likely you're just speaking out of hurt.

If there are actual, quantifiable, distinct positive experiences you've had with DN4, then air them. Cite specific gigs. Give details. Otherwise I'm going to continue to disbelieve you loudly.

i mean, i'm not saying I know anything. i'm saying all this going on right now is shady as hell and i'm getting more and more skeptical that there's any truth in it. i'd be glad to be proven wrong.

I'm SO GLAD someone beat me to posting the link to the Mixmag article. No doubt these parasites will just close the doors and change the name before continuing their scam. Communities like this one are the only real defense against this kind of thing.

Plus i have never heard of "DJ mikey mac" or "DJ d flex" not exactly Ibiza headliners so sod being on the same roster as you - if you are the guy who tried to pull a fast one on me for 470 quid under these names - take note I will eventually find you

I was approached by these jokers a while back and I believe it was because I replied to ad for dj's wanted in gumtree.com (thought id wouldn't hurt) I was called by this guy on the phone and immediately after i was sent an email with the contract and only made aware upon reading about the 400 odd quid charge and he then told me in a following phone call that that was for artist management and not DJ booking and that i should email the sender for a DJ booking agency.
2/3 months later I have still heard nothing and have checked the website since and noticed the events flyers have also changed - they have just put up a load of bull**** flyers of very old random events - which some of them i know for a fact they have had nothing to do with as I have worked under the same promoters and know they do not use any agency at all....stay clear!

So prove it? You say they've progressed your career? Post up your DJ soundcloud, facebook, twitter, logo, whatever. The company helps you with that kind of stuff that "you don't have time for" remember? Post a picture of a flyer with your name on it, ANYTHING.

Amazing thread. If anyone didn't believe they were a scam before, they certainly do now. As with the others though, I'm willing to be proven wrong, so post any VERIFIABLE evidence that this company is legit. If you can't do that, then nobody has reason to believe a word you say.

there's a difference between 'positive' and 'naive.' the dj business is not a world of magical fairies where positive believeing nets you all the lovely things and being negative ruins you forever.

the reality is a lot of us of have done this dance before. i've dealt with shitty promoters. i've not been paid for gigs. you learn, after a while, what the warning signs are you and grow a natural sense for things that smell shady. DN4 smells shady. this assault of bizarre posts reeks of shady.

i'm an intensely positive person. i'm not just going to be sunshine and rainbows about something that looks sketchy as the take on me video.

I have read the negative comments and find them very hard to digest; these type of wordings can put the organization in a dark light and prevent the DJs from moving forward to bigger and better opportunities that will occur so before you all start posting negativity remember what I have stated.
Why are you still trying to protect the name. You already have failed. You keep making new accs that are from sept 2012. We aren't nearly as stupid as the people you try and scam.

As for my experiences with DN4 how would you know what they have been. I don't know you and my response was not for you. Someone had posted and asked the question and I replied with an honest answer. My grammar and spelling has nothing to do with anything. So thanks for getting personal. I thought the idea of these community s was to hear all sides of the story and to give honest opinions and that is what I have done.

!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY !!!!!!!!!

Don't even talk to these people.

True agencies make their money by booking gigs for you. They get paid by keeping you working.
They DO NOT ask the talent for money up-front.

PLEASE!!! I can't stress this enough.

Shifty as hell.. You've asked a question about them and they've been in touch asking you to remove a question about their validity.. MASSIVE avoid. Hopefully this topic will trend on google and other people can steer clear too.
