small/cheap monitors

hi,

i want to buy a pair of small monitors. as i don't have a lot of money to spend and live in student halls, i'd like them to be small and cheap, around 100 pounds preferably. i know it's a ridiculous price tag, but does anyone have any suggestions? been looking at the edirol cakewalk ma-7a and the numark npm5. i've read some alright reviews of the edirols, but couldn't find anything on the numark ones. if anyone has experiences with either of them, i'd be really happy to read about it!

thanks,
semiotic

I've used those Edirols and they are great for the price -- nice clean sound and they'll certainly be enough to fill up a dorm room. They're not known for booming bass or anything but seriously that's a plus in a dorm room situation -- you've got neighbors close by. Don't know anything about the Numarks though.
