Hey everyone,

So i've decided that my DAW of choice will be logic pro. Can anyone point me in the direction of good tutorials and sites that focus on Logic?

The logic pro manual is very very good, step by step with pictures . Not sure if there is one for logic 9 but there is for 8 so read up!
yeah that.

its sounds really obvious but just reading the manual has helped me so much. its helps navigate the porgram much quicker and gives you more chance to play about rather than just believeing about how to do something.

Logic is taking forever to intstall. Up to 7 hours now.
Installing the extra content on external hd but its a FireWire LaCie 7200rpm so i figured it would be quicker.

I wanna get started already !!!

I made a full album on logic pro. I was very pleased with it which I actually made a rap album on it. It's a great program. I'm sure I barely scratched the surface due to my limited needs in just one genre. I just got my hands dirty though and if I ran into problems I would just type it in on google. Worked for me.

something i found which helped my workflow A LOT is, try and take note of the functions you tend to use most... note them down on a peice of paper, and once you have a descent list of all the functions you use regularly (it kind of differs from one person to another) look up in the manual, all the hotkeys for these functions... then, in word, or any typing progam... type the functions, with the hotkeys next to it in a list format... print it out... and stick it on your wall, up next to your screen... once youve learnt all the hotkeys on your list off by heart... make another list with other useful functions that maybe werent on the list and do the same thing with those...

once i started using this method... i found i was gaining CONSIDERABLE amounts of time when working on my projects... things that would take 2 or 3 minutes to do... were being done in seconds...

even by having to check the list every now and then for the hotkey, i was still doing things faster than by using the hotkeys, then by doing everything by hand...

There is a guy who does one of the "qwik trix" segments that I would stay away from. Check out the flex view and flex tool tutorials.

Cheers man. Appreciate it

Groove3 has the same deal if you wanna test out both to see which videos suit your style better. They're all just audio programs and they have an "all-access" pass option for $30 a month.

Logic does come with a paper manual, that goes over a lot of the features. It's just not as in depth as it used to be.

www.logicprohelp.com is a great place. Plus, the dude who runs the site wrote [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Pro-Training-Logic-Express/dp/0321636805/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1291321540&sr=8-1"]this[/ame]

Im also interested in resources 'other' that the manual.
I believe that Logic 9 no longer comes with any Paper manuals and its all PDF.

Thats fine, ill read the PDF manual inside out but id like something in paper.

Something like the Traktor Bible but for Logic.

Any recommendations would be cool.

DJ recomendations are worth a lot, software manuals are never written by DJs so any DJs that recommend a manual is worth a read.
