I've tested the play trial version, straight away threw a heavily textured rock track at it (Panic at the Disco! - But it's better if you do) and it's good, but not

Does melodyne actually remove instruments? I thought it was just pitch correction.

I've got a license for it, but its PC only at the moment, so am gonna have to either dig out the old computer, or run it in some VMware.

I have Melodyne too, so will be interesting to see how their fare side by side.

Skeptical as well but Im definitely interested. I really thought complete separation was impossible. I wanna see how much the other instruments bleed into the separated parts.

But all skepticism aside... Mannnnnnnn this would be fucking amazing. My mind is already running around the possibilities.

I'm not sure I even buy that it really works. How can software possibly isolate separate parts of a track? It just doesn't seem possible.

Oh well. Maybe one day we can tell our kids "you know when I was your age we had to look for acapella versions of songs we wanted to remix..."

Sounds a bit fluffy. I just dont believe you can isolate the frequencies to such a degree that it wont sound like its cutting ones that should not be cut or including one that arent.

Might be fun but not good for commercial purporses.
