I listened to the piece you're working on, which is actually a very nice and groovey basis for a house track. I like the percussion a lot and I'd like to hear some african vocals coming and going in the final mix. I'm looking forward to hearing the final version.

thanks alot ! yeah it has a groove at the moment but its just too plain. you too keep up the good work

Sounds great my only complaint is that there is a cymbal or something at the drop 4:25 thats seem to end very abruptly. Other than that nice laid back tune.

Thanks a lot for your positive comments, I really appreciate it ! Well, it doesn't matter so much what you use but how you use it. My studio setup is pretty basic, with a laptop and a firewire audio interface being the 'heart' of it, a decent pair of monitors and a cheap midi controller and that's it, from gear perspective.

As for software, it's logic 9, lots of freeware synths and effect plugins and a good software sampler (I play lots of free audio samples and soundfonts).

I'm glad the mix sounds clean to you and there's absolutely no secret about it. It's mostly equalisation (sweeping off as much bass frequencies as you can) and sound layering. One very important thing is NOT using too many elements in a mix. Keep it simple and powerful.

Thank you.
