Industry Standard VSTi's

Hey guys,

I have a question, what are the industry standard Vsti's for house music now days ? I realize it must be a bit of a watery area/question because each producer uses his own, but i am sure there are few that every one uses.

Thank you for your time !

There are tons and tons of VSTs out there, just find a few you like and that make sense to you and run with them.
Well if you use the same presets, sure, but some VST's (like Massive) have so many possibilities that it's kind of hard to hit someone else's sound unless you know what they did. Or like I said, if you have a preset.

Another way to get your own sound is layering. Layering multiple versions of the same VST, or layer multiple instruments (different VSTs).

I use Massive, Nexus, some 8bit plugins (like magical8bitplugin, or QuadraSID), and depending on what I want to do with my sound I might pull in some samples of sounds.

Too true. There isn't really any that are "Industry Standard", however, there are some that are more popular among producers than others. Check out anything in NI Komplete 7, VSTs that mimic the TR-808, TR-909, the moog replica soft synth's from Arturia, Omnisphere, Fabfilter synths, and, obviously, the OEM VSTs from your favourite DAW

If you want a good resource for VSTs, and charts that list the more popular one's among the community, check out:

Sorry guys totally forgot about this thread!!! Thx so much for the feedback, I'll definitely try vsti's mentioned above. @Nephew : I agree, but the reason i am asking, is because maybe some produce better/fuller sounds then other's!

Massive for basslines. and Kontakt is a pretty standard sampler. and im not sure about whether they are "industry standard" or not, but iZotope make some killer plugins. I was dubious about all the positive reviews, but now I have most of them, I can attest to how amazing they are.
