Drumpad questions|mpc 1000

A good friend of mine has been letting me use his akai mpc 1000 for a few months now. I've been trying to use it in unison with Traktor and Flstudio but can't manage to get either program to pick it up. I've looked up tutorials on how to get it to work with fl, but nothing has worked yet. As far as traktor goes, I wasn't positive if it was even possible to get it to work inside the program so I've just plugged it in separately to my pa to play with it live. Any help on how to get the board to work with these two programs would be great.

On top of that, I've had issues finding quality samples to use with the mpc. I've looked specifically for bass/synth packs and vocal packs. If anyone could link me to a quality site of free or cheap packs, that would be great. I'd prefer an opinion from someone that has actually used these samples.

To anyone that can help me, thanks a ton. You'll have saved me a lot of future frustration ^.^

Thanks
