Question on what synth is used in Avicii - Levels??
Posted on: 21.10.2011 by Alverta Liebler
Hey guys,
So I know Im new here, but thats cause Ive been around futureproducers.com for a while until I realized this community is very active too...

So I want to remix Levels by Avicii and I want to remake his synth used when he shifts octaves.

It's high pitched, has a lot of portamento, but if someone could help me identify what waveforms he uses, reply! If you still don't know what I'm talking about, it's the first layer added after the main breakdown..... High-pitched, moving up and down exactly one octave at intervals of around 1 bar per shift in tone

It's kind of smooth, and really goes well with the piano-sounding main synth.

Thanks for your help guys!!!

I used a stock patch in Zebra2 which is free
http://www.u-he.com/cms/zebra

I dont fully understand how the synth works yet so it will be easier if you download it.

go to patches - orgones - HS Fizz Kordian

At the bottom click the global settings - Turn glide up about half way

I put a Low pass filter over the whole thing and added some reverb.

notes are e4 - e5

let me know what else you do to make the sound closer
I just tripled up the synths and added one an octive lower and it sounded a bit better

Good luck

No the synth Im looking for is this thin, sireny one in the background haha

It only plays 2 notes, changes every 1/2 note, just a E and a lower E, I believe.

These types of sounds can really be created by just about any synth out there. However, Sylenth will get you closest to the original. It's able to give you that vintage analog feel that makes the sound so fat.

took me a while to understand what part you were talking about. Gonna give it shot toevening . I believe he is automating the pitch

Guys, I'm not looking for the main synth....it comes in about 8 bars into the mainroom section..... it's slow and high pitched, and it only plays 2 notes.

Powerchord made with a mouthful of saws, sylenth will do the trick nicely.

Its probably made loosely around a patch in Sylenth1 as its his go to synth for writing. Will Check it out and get back to you.
