Omer Defillipo 03.11.2011 | Ah, no worries, man! Glad I could help! Please pick up this song again some time in the future, would love to hear it get all nice and polished! And about the mastering, sure studio monitors are helpful and important, but you could also just do it the ghettowaaay: just try the song on all different sound sources you've got in your home and adjust accordingly. Monitors aren't cheap! But there are thousand threads on that subject. I'm really looking forward to hear more from you in the future! |
Nilda Eastgate 03.11.2011 | Thank you so much for your feedback! May I also say how amazing the song in your sig is! I listened to this again! I agree with you about the kick! It just sounds ridiculous at times! I was literally just experimenting as much as I could so I could get some decent feedback! Thanks so much! Also I haven't done any mastering, just a slight compression here and there. I don't have any studio monitors - Just some Shure headphones so Im struggling to master at them moment. I will use all your feedback to help me make my next one Im getting into this unusual genre though Thanks again, I can't put it into words how much help you have been! |
Omer Defillipo 02.11.2011 | Hey man! The intro is really nice, like this is something I would listen to on the bus-nice. The track is a little quiet, have you done any mastering/compressing? I'm on the same track as that guy on SC who commented, would love to hear the intro without the kick, I believe that would sound just incredible and kind of separate the track from all other stuff that everybody makes. The kick does not sound good at all, when it comes in at 2:50 it just ruins it for me. It's not the use of the kick, just the sound, it does not blend well with the mix. It's kind of funny cause I listened halfway through the track and was like Hey this guy doesn't sound noobish at all. Until 3:30, the first noobish sounding part of all. The beat just does not sound good in any way, and I honestly cant understand why you would put that part in there? The build up to the drop sounds really good, I like that, and the drop is wicked cool too. It feels like the kick is slowing and dragging the mix down in an unpleasant way, I would try and mess around with a bit bouncier kicks. The song structure is a bit weak at times, the kick comes and goes in a way that makes it feel like theres no thought put into it. I would try maybe skipping the kick all through the intro, putting it in at 2:17 instead of 2:50, I don't know, just try to tighten up the structure a bit and really believe of the track as a whole. Now I sound a bit critical, dont get me wrong, it sounds very, very good and I believe it's not long until you can skip out that noob part entirely. |
