Zenobia Mcniece 05.11.2011 | Thank you so much! since the intro synth is heavily sidechained, the kicks/hits sound very offbeat, and im not sure how to fix this quite yet. and the gltiched vocals are, as of this point, completely unwarped so ill match them up better and sync it out! as far as the "pianoish" sound, it was just the same synth as the intro, but resampled and slowed slightly. i agree that it dramaticly breaks and lags the feel of the song. thank you for your feedback! i very much appreciate it! |
Omer Defillipo 05.11.2011 | Hey! First off, why do you have those two off beat kicks/hits in the intro? Are they intentional? I believe the first 16 seconds are really good! Really feeling the vibe of that part, not a big fan of the glitched up vocals though. I believe they don't blend well with the rest of the mix. So if you decide on keeping them, I would advise you to work a lot more with them, to make sure they blend in better and doesn't abrupt the flow. I believe you have such a sweet lead synth in the build up, and it's a shame to not fully use its potential! The pianoish sound which first comes in at 0:48 sounds extremly midi and really drags down a lot of overall quality, sounds like that can really ruin the whole thing. It's important to remember that even though you're making a glitchy song, the glitches still have to follow a "flow". I believe this is the mistake most new producers make, focusing everything on making the sickest sound, and not focusing on the sounds following a flow to create a sick whole with good momentum. At the first part of the drop, there is no flow at all, just a total glitched up mess which is not nice to listen to. Although at 1:30 - 1:34 everything sounds amazing, this part is really really good! I would probably have picked those seconds and built the entire track around those. The vocal sample towards the end, at about 2:10, it's really cool! A lot better then intro vocals in my opinion, and would probably be cool to be used in the intro! It doesn't sound too bad though, I can clearly hear that you are well on your way to develop some good skills! Just focus on the flow, and then fill up with more sound. |
