Controller to use with Launchpad
Posted on: 02.12.2011 by Sarai Suchman
Hi Guys,

SO i been getting into more of the producing line of music as of late and am looking to expand my controllers.

What i am specifically looking for is:

Controller with lots of knobs to be able to control individual device encoders.

Right now i use my mouse to move the knobs on each specific device and use my launch pad as my drumrack/keyboard.

What i am looking for is for this scenario:

I pull up Operator Synth.
I want to be able to map all the device knobs to encoders on a controller
use the launch pad to trigger the sounds

Switch to another instrument and do the same thing.

The problem i have right now is i am using the S4 mixer knobs to control the instrument knobs

yet when i switch from one instrument to another everything resets and i need to remap everytime which is a pain in the ass.

Is there a controller out there that will memorize each mapping for each device i use?

Sorry if this is a little all over the place but its hard to explain everything in a community

Add an APC40!
I plan on adding one to my launchpad, and it could honestly give you full control. I'm believeing of having my launchpad for clip launching, follow actions, and user modes, and I'm going to try and have the apc grid remapped to momentary FX. Sounds Ideal to me

EDIT: Not to mention, the apc adds the same amount of pots and encoders to your setup in addition to a clip launch matrix for far cheaper.

I used to have a midi keyboard, but since i picked up the launch pad i have had way more enjoyment out of making synths using it. The fact i can sit on my couch with just the little pad is great for playing around.

I will probably pick up the Novation Remote Zero as it fits my needs perfectly

The Novation Remote Zero SL is a great piece of kit to go along with the LP

I chose the remote 25 for the keyboard, but I like the Remote line

There is the Novation Remote Zero SL which has 16 knobs and 8 faders and some buttons.

I have been looking at the BCR2000 but god dang is it huge...the livid code looks freakin awesome but soooo expensive!!

is there something that is like inbetween both of these? maybe with a few faders?

Try the bcr2000 or the livid code. both have a ton of knobs to map to anything you want!
