Deadmau5 secret revealed in fl studio
Posted on: 21.12.2011 by Deja Veltre
Hey guys whats going on. I'm a DJ/Producer and i was recently screwing around in fl studio and i was using a certain vst called wasp. This is a vst i use a lot for remixes and i came upon something shocking making a remix of Strobe + Aural Psynapse (both by deadmau5.)

I had got the actual lead sound from deadmau5's strobe. I was very excited when I forund this out when i played the original track with the sound i discovered. PERFECT SYNC!! I almost crapped my self when it worked.

After that i wanted to get the cool sounding intro for Aural Psynapse, which was just released in November. I used wasp again and i wanted the exact sound. I had this idea,"what if i changed the shapes of the sounds." That is exactly what I did and i found out something: deadmau5 maybe lazier than we believe (no disrespect intended of course.) After I went from square-wave to saw-wave of osc 1+2, i got the lead intro sound of Aural Psynapse. I felt like i found out who killed tupac when i found this out.

Now i am sharing this secret with you.

That's because he did it first, and others doing it now are just copycats...

I found out the other day how daft Punk got the Supertramp synth sound in Digital Love: they bought the Supertramp synth. Cool story bro

If i left out something let me know.
Surely you know you can press the PrtScrn button (command-shift-3 on Apple macs) for screen captures.

Ok if you have seen the settings for the last post i will show you how to get from aural psynapse settings to the strobe settings in wasp.

Part 1) Osc- Put both OSC 1 + 2 to 12 o' clock. Set the waveforms from a square-wave to a saw-tooth wave. Keep the settings to OSC 3 as it is.

Part 2) AMP ADSR- Keep the ATT (Attack) at zero. Turn the DEC (Decay) where it is almost if not exactly between 12 and 1 o'clock. Turn the SUS (suspension) a pinch clockwise. Turn the REL (release) counter clockwise so it is between 11 and 12 o'clock.

Part 3) FILTER ADSR- Raise the attack to where it is barely above zero. Keep the rest of the settings as they are.

Part 4) DIST- Turn the tone down to zero. Make sure the DIST is off.

Part 5) Cutoff is for auto-mation clips.
