Why Is TRUE MIDI sync so expensive?
Posted on: 28.12.2011 by Jacquiline Dua
Im trying to get a 100% jitter free MIDI sync with an external hardware drum machine and Ableton or Maschine or any software for that matter. It seems that there is only one solution and thats one of those stupid expensive MIDI super sync boxes.
Mabey Im just not finding a cheaper model that can do what I need.. Ive found this one
http://www.innerclocksystems.com/

and then there is something else.. but I believe its main advantage is for other gear from the same company.

Im using the latest Macbook pro.. 6 months old
and a MOTO MK3 Hybrid Firewire sound card which according to their product description has some smoke and mirrors great midi sync.. which ultimately over time FAILS with things getting jittery

I have heard Ableton just sucks in general for perfect midi without jitter. So Im trying to consider Maschine as an alternative...
Besides obviously having drumloops or beat patterns playing perfectly with software and hardware... my main reason is to get tempo synced FX.
I dont arrange my songs normally.. but record everything live... I just know I will go insane if all my recordings end up having shifting jittering crap happening
