Possible to trigger Maschine by firing midi clip? Posted on: 29.12.2011 by Neal Rayome Hi guys,I recently bought a Maschine and after fiddling around for a bit, I'm now trying to implement in my live setup. Maschine is set up as a VST in Ableton and as soon as I hit the master play button, Maschine is triggered and starts to run its sequenced beat. I'm trying to find a way to start Maschine by my command and not through the master clock. Is it possible to have Maschine start by firing a midi clip or something in that direction? Thanks... | |

Dorie Scelzo 30.12.2011 | Apparently I'm wrong. Manual section 10.7. |
Dorie Scelzo 29.12.2011 | It's not really meant to work like that, so I believe the answer is no. As a plugin, it's transport follows the host absolutely. You'd still have to do it from the Maschine hardware (but isn't that the point? Maschine doesn't add much to Ableton other than the hardware) but I'd suggest just not using the first scene. Empty it, and make sure it's selected when you hit play on Ableton. Maschine will be playing in time, but i'll be playing silence. Then drop into the scene you want to play when you want to. |
