Waves Plugins - Suggestions. Help.
Posted on: 29.12.2011 by Jovita Schulist
Yo yo,
Looking to buy a group of plugins. 500 dollars. Im trying to buy a group of plugins which can be used on everything. Bass, Drums, Vocals, Mids, Highs. I produce heavy Dubstep. But always lead in with a melodic intro with some vocals.
Waves are the top of my list not only because of reviews and known quality but also because they are rocking for 50% off right now. Can't turn that down. Looking to purchase these today because the deal ends soon. Uh Oh.

Have these 3. Also need an EQ. ANY AND ALL SUGGESTIONS WELCOME. PLEASE.
Using Ableton Live.

Also produce with a friend so the Ilok helps me so i can use them if we make a tune on his computer.

Waves : TrueVerb
Waves : L2 Ultramaximizer. (Used as a limiter also)
Waves : API 2500 as my Compressor. Seems the most versatile as it can be used on busses and individuals.

I'd say take the deal now, you seem to be set on those waves plugins and at half price I would take it if I had the money!

1) Im worried ozone is a little bit too complex for me, as i'm more musical as appose to technical.
2) Also isn't it more aimed towards mastering. I will have a audio engineer mastering my tunes.
I use ozone 5 and its very simple to use imo, yes it was designed for mastering but that doesn't change what it is, a very awesome tool, It can make every part of your track sound better! When you track is finished send it to the mastering guys cause they know what their doing and have the right tools.

Most people here can't afford Waves, myself included.

I've used some of their plugins but not extensively and not the plugins you've mentioned, so I have no opinions.

I've been using Ozone 4... here's how my sound turned out...

It's incredible what it can do automatically and how much bang you get for your buck. If you buy the whole suite you get nectar which would help with your vocals, and glitch which you could for fx if you perform live. iZotope.
