Building a desktop for production
Building a desktop for production Posted on: 18.01.2012 by Jenise Kryszak Anyone have any insight as to what processors/components would be best for production? I know the more RAM and processing power the better but I have no experience in creating my own desktop. I feel like I could get more out of my money if I build it myself, though. My budget would be around $600. I've used earlier versions of Fruity Loops so I would probably stick with it. My laptop isn't cut out for the newest FL studio though and I know FL is only for windows so a mac is out of the question. | |

Elma Kersting 20.01.2012 | I design custom computers for people as a hobby and part-time job, send me a PM and I'll be happy to help you out. |
Jenise Kryszak 20.01.2012 | Oh alright it must be one of the newer ones then. Thanks again. It also looks like I'm going to spend over $600 on this build. Probably more like ~$900. |
Stella Shatzel 20.01.2012 | I wish I could tell you. I bought it just a couple of months ago if that helps? I really don't know. |
Jenise Kryszak 20.01.2012 | Thanks at least I have somewhat of a comparison. Is your Intel i5 the first gen or the second gen sandy-bridge? |
Stella Shatzel 19.01.2012 | Well, for some reference, I have a Dell Inspiron Laptop with a Core i5 with 8g of RAM. And it is usually pretty good. I run into some trouble when I approach the end of a track due to running multiple VSTs and effects and all that. I use FL studio 10. Hope that gives you an idea! |
