Bass lines - Having trouble creating, I just cannot create! :)

Well here goes,

I started producing a little bit, if you can call it that. My production is simple but slowly I am getting the hang of it.

Now I have tried many different software packages from ableton to FL studio's and I have a maschine. I love the simplicity of the maschine software, but I am stuck with one aspect of basic music.

THE BASS LINES. I cannot seem to find or create a nice running bass line with different octaves. I also cannot find a nice thick kick bass drum like the old Snoop dogg gin and juice beat.

Anyone help with a sound or a how-to?

I understand music theory and the whole inner workings of speakers and such. I just don't know how to create that sound within Maschine.

I will have to download the massive manual and take a peak.

Have you read the Massive manual at all? Just curious....

I would suggest you to read or get some music theory to understand those things then.

So do I have to create these, or are they a preset or wav file that i alter?

I am confused where to start. Where would I find a sine wave sound?

I believe the mistake most people make with basslines is that they try and make them too complex. A simple sine for the subs and a filtered square or triangle OSC for more bite up top will get you 90% of the way there.

Try to create your chord progression first and then use the notes to create your bassline?
