Wanted to know how to make a bassline like in the track below:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuFlffF1lIM

It's called: Mihalis Safras - San trope (Oxia remix)

I know its a Sine wave with a side chain compressor on it..any tips on how to get this type of sound?

any sort of advice would help, or suggestions on VSTs etc..what key range I should be in..if theres more than just a sine wave....ANYTHING

It seems fairly simple. If you're using Ableton, open up Operator and select Osc A to be 8-bit sine, and sidechain it to the kick. EQ it until it sounds right, seems like it's boosted in the 70-100HZ range.
