Im going to get into production, its going to be a long road, but this is where I begin. My favourite producer is Jerome Isma'e so naturally I was looking at what he might have in his studio. here is a take from beatportal.

Give us a little bit of info about your studio. Did you switch completely to digital recording?

Yes, all digital. Mac Quad 4 x 2.5 GHZ, Logic Pro, Tons of Plug Ins, I sold all my hardware years ago.

Sometimes I miss the sound of my Akai S 1000, MPC 60, Tubetech LCA 2B.

But for bigger productions I go to my friends Studio (Orange Sound Munich), and work with the SSL Axiom Mixer"

I have ordered machine and figure i will play with it a few months before looking for a DAW. I was always swinging towards Ableton but now I will have to check out logic pro. Does Logis pro have a similar learning curve as ableton, Does it have similar support, Tutorials availiable. Do many here use it?

So, I found some threads relating to my above questions... now I have some new questions. My 13" unibody macbook is nearly 4 years old now and ive filled it up. Now that im getting into production I figure I need a 15" macbook pro. My old macbook ill clean up and use as a back up. Im currently in the states and would like to know where the best general prices for mbp's are? also, is there anything one might do straight away to improve its performance or storgae space. I figure as its a pro its already pretty well covered, but hey, I might as well ask.
