Setting Up Hardware Synth

So I just got this Kurzweil K2000R rackmount synth and I was planning on going from the midi out of my saffire pro 40 to the kurzeil synth and then I would control it with my M-Audio Keyrig (has no midi out) but nothing is working right now and I cant seem to figure out how to setup the synth to work with ableton so I can use my keyrig to play the synth and then have it receiving a midi clip and playing it

Im so frustrated ahhh!

Go to devices>instruments> and load external instrument.

This will create an ableton device where you select where you want to send midi to and where you want to receive audio from, plus gives you a gain control.

Then you treat that channel exactly how you would any other software instrument/vst synth. Just hit the record arm button and play your keyboard and it will send midi to the synth and receive audio in the same channel. No need for creating a separate midi track.
ah, thanks for reminding, forgot about that.

Then you'll need to connect the audio outs on the Kurzweil to set of inputs on your saffire. In Ableton, on the audio channel you created, set it's inputs to those that you have the Kurzweil connected to. That you get you up and running.
