Ralph Alderette 18.10.2012 | start off with Garageband, since its free on all Mac computers. Once you outgrow it and get the hang of the software, then upgrade to Logic Pro ($200) |
Ami Lele 17.10.2012 | I have a mac so i COULD use logic |
Jona Slon 16.10.2012 | There are two paths you can go down: 1. Computer-based production 2. Hardware/Analog-based production The first would require you to own a computer/laptop and a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). Some good DAW's are Logic Pro, Ableton and Reason. These programs will allow you to write music and produce tunes. Other gear you CAN have but not 100% necessary are midi controllers such as the key rig. I would suggest a midi keyboard like the key rig just to help you write tracks quicker. The second option would be to go for a hardware-analog based setup. This would mean that you will need a hardware synth like the microKorg, a Moog, or the many others that populate the market. This setup is more for people with existing production knowledge and/or a lot of spare time. It is probably more expensive then the former too. ANYWAYS there is nothing to say you can't use a hybrid setup with some hardware and some midi. I would recommend that you start out by trying Garage band or FL Studio. FL Studio is a professional DAW but it is easily accessible to those with windows computers. Hope this helped and good luck |
